I agree, Dusty doesnt need to train, we should send him home until RD 0, its not like eh will improve or need the touch or hardening for match fitness.

Its all too risky.

Good point, bringing your mouthguard to training 5 months before the season is a really sensible move.

Yeah when you are the GOAT you can stay home all summer ripping cones and just rock up round 1.

To be honest, it's not far away (from a size and role point of view, not neccesarily ability) from what our core back 6 used to be. Thrown in a seventh defender (small/medium type) and we are set. Could be Brown/Trez possibly. I would like to see Short up the field. And by training reports, Baker is training as a mid.

I agree in many ways.

But I also think that the comparison is not quite exact.

In any case we need midfield pressure more than anything right now.

And we have a dire need forward. Maybe Kozi fills it. Or Sampson. Or Lynch crushes it for the next few years.

Anyway, we will see. We have too many backs looking good, and not enough forwards.

If Dusty comes out and rips it apart like he finished 2023 he could have another 2017. So I want him to rip the training track up and then tear the AFL apart. Cause he can do it, and showing that the others are pretenders would just make my year.

Sadly Grimes is cooked judging by last season. Think it will be his last year this year and he'll only play a handful of games if others stay fit. Hope I'm wrong but I think his best years are behind him

Hinkley did it to Jonas, I'd expect Yze to do the same. No free rides. Grimes has steadily declined for two years, I can't see him miraculously turning that around. Even his BnF year in '21 was nowhere near as good as the couple of years previous IMO.

On last years form he doesn't...

And I have been critical on the likes of Kmac getting a game on reputation rather than performance, so I won't start a double standard by giving the capt a free pass.

Hopefully he actually puts his hand up and says he doesn't want to capt, it gave Boak a new lease on lif for Port, might just free him up a little more.
