Was just checking out the list of people given permission to train with Brisbane and it appears Voss has completely lost it.

BRISBANE LIONS
Claye Beams (Labrador)
Niall McKeever (Ireland)

Possibly recruited for next time Fev is blind??

ha ha, took me a second to click onto that.

Is this guy related to Dayne Beams of Collingwood?

Re: Daniel Harris - Possible pick up in PSD?

I am a bit confused on the Patrick situation. Thought he was available to be picked up in the PSD.

Haven't Gold Coast used up their quota of signings?

Maybe the comment in that article relates to their assumption that no team will pick him up in the PSD and that will allow GC to pick him up with one of their first 5 rookie picks?

HEY ANT

Now that I have your attention.

As i respect your opinion over all on this board, even if I disagree sometimes, I would like to know who you would most want and who you think the Bombers will most likely want in the PSD & Rookie Draft and some explanations why.

I apologise for providing you more analysis, which your probably sick of doing at this stage of the year, but your a victim of your own impressive information.

Nope, but at 185cm, who knows what position he will play. Rather go for a small defender (Hooper) or a midfielder.

Because 185cm is much more awkward than 172cm.

This isn't a ****ing rollercoaster. There's more to
consider than height.

Patrick has played his best footy as a ruckman- at 185cm, he aint a AFL ruckman. Hooper is a small defender- something we lack badly. He fills a need.

I'm well aware of all that, but your comment was still riddled with your trademark hypocrisy and contradiction.

BTG - i think bombersno1 should have under his name : Ben the Gooner's Bitch

I agree about seriously considering Hooper for the PSD or Rookie Draft - He is a real footballer and tested 2nd in agility and 3rd in the 20m at draft Camp.

BombersNo1- Your argument about Patrick is flawed. Patrick is a 3rd forward who has spent some time in the ruck.

He wasn't rookie drafted by GC to play in the ruck.

Hardly. I don't want another waste of a PSD pick (Skipworth, Michael, etc). I want to pick a footballer that has a set position. Hooper is a small defender, suits our needs. Or go for an inside midfielder like Alex Carey.

We shouldn't pick Patrick because of his height, so we should pick a midget instead. :thumbsu:

Re: Michael Barlow

He looks good, cam second in the Liston Trophy IIRC playing less games than Sewell. Has a monster tank, and while skills are questionable, he's a ball magnet. Definitely one of the best young players in the VFL.

Re: Daniel Harris - Possible pick up in PSD?

As for Daniel Harris, there are questions over his tank and speed. With these deficiencies, he just wasn't doing enough, which is why he was delisted. If you could boost his tank up majorly, it could allow him to get to more contests and potentially do for you guys what we wished him to.

His kicking isn't that bad, it's probably better than Watson's, he's just not noted as a decent kick as he's a clearance specialist.

Harris does not suit our speed kills style we hav enough of his type

Different positions. One is a small defender (Hooper) and one is a midget ruckman (Patrick). Who knows what AFL position Patrick will be. At least we know where Hooper will play. The same "midget" calls were made about Sam Mitchell..last time I looked he goes ok.

a) you're not picking up patrick

b) no offense, but from what i keep reading from bombersno1 - whatever they write just seems like a load of tripe or second hand knowledge.

c) hope you guys pick up barlow, looked good in the two games i saw. and good luck with the draft today!

FWIW, I don't have any problem with drafting Hooper. I have a problem with your ridiculous lack of any sort of logical thought. Clearly Patrick won't play as a ruckman but doesn't it occur to you that someone who has a leap big enough to ruck as a 185cm fella might be able to utilise such a huge asset somewhere else on the field?
