The saints in no mans land thread has so many people refusing to see any way we could possibly improve from last year.

As it stands to me, we showed good form in the back end of the year (including beating a grand finalists and a prelim finalist), weve (softly) adressed the midfield issue with Macrae and have considerable expected improvement in the likes of Windy, Pou, Garcia, Wilson as well as role players in Clark, Dow etc. Our forward line has a shot at using its VAST talent with a decent pre season, some continuity and chemisty (combining with a decent if not good midfield) and our backline remains pretty solid (albeit Battle is a loss).

To me its weird most non saints fan seem so assured well be terrible this year.

I remember saying that Richmond would make finals in 2017 and people thought I was nuts. (I have too many Tigers mates ad got sucked in). Once you've had a few down years people just assume that that's where you belong.

So sounds like Tauru will wear number 18?

Feels fitting, one of those numbers with a lot of guns, like 23.
Carroll wearing #18 at training
I know, and he’s signed for Sandy, and I believe so has Elwood. I just find it curious that they didn’t take him as a rookie, where he’d have been officially under the club’s eye, but still have him training with and us and playing at Sandy, where he’s an open target next year or midseason.
He’ll be under the club’s eye…Lenny & BJ!

Okay, it's only the SANFL but these stats make interesting reading -

Boyd – who became the 13th individual Norwood Magarey Medallist – had 200 more hitouts and 50 more clearances than anyone else in the SANFL competition in 2024.

In an incredibly dominant season, Boyd averaged 20.7 disposals, 41.5 hitouts and 10 clearances across his 18 matches in 2024.

Boyd polled in 14 of his 18 matches, including eight 3-vote Best on Grounds

Worth a 2 year deal. Hot damn are they impressive numbers.

What's his speed across the ground like?

1 Higgins
2 Windhager
3 Jones
4 Collard

5 Travaglia
6 Tauru

7 NAS
8 Hill
9 Steele
10 Owens

Pretty good vibes to that corner of the locker room
I thought it read Macrae was wearing 6? Might have imagined it.

It's not really important but I'd much rather give Goddard's old number to Tauru instead of a discarded mid

From what I saw, he's similar to Marshall in terms of his jumping ability.
So nothing particularly special then.

He’ll have to protect the drop site of the ball with his monster rig.

Travaglia 5, Dodson 38, Boyd 50, Barrat 28. Elwood wearing 39. Boxshall has 33 and 37 looks like Said. 39 is Elwood, Tauru isn't out there. All newbies bar Boyd are training separately.

Just on Boyd, a lot shorter than Moose but built like the proverbial - the definition of an immovable object out there!

The senior boys are training with a bit of fire in their belly. Very vocal and engaged. Super solid session so far.
Do we have Macrae and Carroll numbers?

Harry Boyd was training. He's a HUGE unit (arms & legs) although not overly tall for a ruckman at 198cm.

Yes, about the same height as Goober.

Did you happen to spot Boyd’s mum?
