Iād love to stick it up a lot of people!
Had umpires down before Xmas and again on Wednesday. Ramping it up and full match sim will be very soon I would imagine. From reading the media over the past week it seems other clubs have had some pretty serious intra club game hit outs, I wonder when we will start ramping things up?
Max is looking in fantastic condition heading into this season and I can't wait for him to hopefully put together his most consistent and damaging year at the level. If he's firing, then we will hopefully be being games of football.
Also, just saw one of the first photos of Tauru in training kit since being drafted. Does anyone know if he's still a few weeks off from getting into full training? Believe the original timeframe was February?
Max has all the traits to be one of the best, if not the best Forward in the game. However we need to see some intangibles from him such as determination, persistence and grit.
Displaying traits like these, might just allow us to witness him sprinting out on a lead and not just stand in the goal square, leading up the ground, chasing and applying pressure, and sacrificing his own game to help others (ie bragging his opponent/s out of the dangerous space).
Only time will tell. But I'll cross my fingers and pray, because a 50+ goal season from a leading forward wil make us look like a completely different team.
FWIW IMO Max will never be a lead up player. He is never fitter but relies on clean quick delivery to be one on one. Our improving midfield should help this.
Tauru was on the bike prior to Christmas and was running on Wednesday so is beginning the process.

my first reaction is to hate this, but also seeing how well Thilthorpe did for the crows the second half of the season as FF gorilla gives me a bit of hope that it's still viableIf they've bulked him he's not going to be used as a lead up player. That looks like they are setting him to be the pack crasher at the top of the square.
I think he has naturally filled out, but he was never a lead up forward. Hammer, Titanic, and the smalls are all repeat lead players.my first reaction is to hate this, but also seeing how well Thilthorpe did for the crows the second half of the season as FF gorilla gives me a bit of hope that it's still viable
if we can get him one out and put it into space for him it will be a very high percentage play, even with someone in the hole, the key is to put it 15 to 20 metres in front of him. Hopefully he will be stronger in the wrestle too now (not that he was ever particularly weak), which will help when we drop it on his head.I think he has naturally filled out, but he was never a lead up forward. King one on one is a better option
Repeat entries when the defence has zoned back will be where his size is a factor.

Watch the vid from training - long bombs to a contest in the goal square - only "fwd" hit up on a lead was Marshall.if we can get him one out and put it into space for him it will be a very high percentage play, even with someone in the hole, the key is to put it 15 to 20 metres in front of him. but he still has to move and reset, repeated leads even if they're not flat chat repeat sprints, we've got to keep their defense churning, just didn't see enough of it with him in the side last year

Yeah I went with my daughter.anyone going today to training?
again agree,i rejoice everytime harvey misses the saints job for the same reason, superstar player but i dont think a coach, however you really dont know till they have a go,years ago i said sam day and scott lycett are the 2 worst players ive seen in the history of the game, one won a flag and the other just got picked up by the reigning premier,on top of an already 14 year career,i just think someone of the ilk of selwood would be a mistake i could cope with, big upside if it goes the other way, might even get an ldu or brayshaw over the line, anyway seems his appearance at training has been explainedThatās why I said necessarily.
It wasnāt a blanket statement.
Just because you can play, doesnāt mean you can coach.
Eg I donāt think Roo would be a good coach.
Being an absolutely driven professional and superstar, Iām not sure heād be able to necessarily get the best out of those who arenāt.
Just my opinion.
Me too mate.Iād love to stick it up a lot of people!
