How are Doogs and Mase going? Haven't heard much about them. I presume rolling along as elder statesman but I see both as being pretty vital to pushing up the ladder given their roles?

Yeah they were doing their thing. Nothing that stands out. Howard vocal in the defenders drills.

Bytel and Windy had back injuries when we drafted them while Hotton developed one in his first few months at the club.

He would be a very handy addition to the list. He provides more versatility than Tom Campbell did. As well as being a very capable ruck back up, he has also been a defender in a past life. He has the height (198) strength, mobility and footy smarts to play on the monster forwards as well so provides a back up if Howard is out of form or injured

Prior to Christmas he was in no.50 from memory.
Be surprised he isn't picked up SSP. Think that's finalised in Feb. He would not have returned from SA otherwise.

Caminiti was signed on as a SSP Feb 14 last year.

I can only think that the club is holding off just in case he gets injured, which would allow the Saints a last minute swap to another player if he did.

Otherwise everyone including his boyhood club believe "its happening".

BOYD ADDED TO AFL LIST

Congratulations to former bear Harry Boyd on being added to St Kilda’s senior list as a preseason supplemental selection.

Harry was invited to train with the Saints after an impressive career at Norwood in the SANFL, where he won the 2024 Magarey Medal.

He is the 5th SFNC player since 2018 to be drafted to AFL level, following Jordon Butts, Lachlan Ash and Matt and Jack Whitlock.

My guess is that the contract is signed up paper work cannot be lodged until the 14th of Feb so he cant be officially announced until then. Just my guess though.

I think the injury point is exactly why there has been no official announcement on Boyd. Don't want to risk signing him and then he does an ACL in pre season training.

Would be surprised. However he definitely is not a 'project' player. He will be a ruck that gets his gig in seniors on the younger side, like a Gardiner for WCE or English for the Dogs.

Jeez Hill looks evergreen doesn’t he, from the great footage provided by SaintsTV.

I’d also say Stocker, Windy and many other main stays also looking the goods. Going to be a hard team to crack into. Personally I don’t see any of our first year draft picks getting an early look in. Think TT is too skinny and TauRoo being managed obviously. Shame Barratt seems to have done a calf? But really that’s Arie’s spot to grab.

Thought Boyd looked quite impressive tbh and would not be surprised to see an early debut there.

Pray te feck clean bill of health moving forward. Macrae pretty exciting recruit. My boy Garcia should be in the 22 week in week out imo he’s a real live wire!

Stocker looked like he’s added pace. When I saw the headband I thought Hunter Clark had got on the roids. Looks cut. Looks to have made a real push to cement a best 22 spot.
