Glad to hear good things about Hall. He is a genuinely promising talent who might not have the x factor of a Keeler or a tenacity of a Garcia, but he's clean with the ball and does the basics superbly. Deserves to be in the same conversation as these guys

Is why I am not too concerned if Henry doesn't make it for round 1, gives guys like Hall a chance to prove themselves early in the season

Finally having a healthy run, he's ready to elevate this year imo

I can kind of get why they play best 18 vs second 18 for team cohesion and that but jeez would be frustrating for a key forward or small forward who wants to impress and stake their claim when they’re playing in a side that is losing 73-1 after 24 minutes of footy due to the teams being so lopsided, probably only get 1 forward 50 entry every 10 minutes to try to do something with. Surely a more competitive hit out would be more beneficial

I can kind of get why they play best 18 vs second 18 for team cohesion and that but jeez would be frustrating for a key forward or small forward who wants to impress and stake their claim when they’re playing in a side that is losing 73-1 after 24 minutes of footy due to the teams being so lopsided, probably only get 1 forward 50 entry every 10 minutes to try to do something with. Surely a more competitive hit out would be more beneficial

Understand and it is hard to give a proper picture when I an writing a stream of conciousness.
The forwards in the red were basically defending with no real importance in getting forward.
An example, in an earlier drill, Naz turned it over in the corridor and it end up with Jones 40 out. He just kicked it back to the line coach.
The focus was on movement, spread, quick switches and rolling to position.
This was highlighted by the positioning training up and down the ground.
Let's face it, Our small forwards are Higgo and Butts, both are fit and both looked very good.
The blokes that should be happy with this would be Arie, O'Connell, Barrat, and McLennon who are battling to fill the vacant Battle spot.
Hall looks favoured over Carroll and Jones who both are looking good also. A healthy list for a change (touch wood).

Excellent review JB very comprehensive.

Its nice to see we have might have found a player in Hall and add Henry to the forward mix and things will really spice up down there. Quick attacking, creative players is something we have craved for sometime.

The club drafted Tauru knowing he had that same injury. If the club aren't concerned, then we shouldn't be concerned. Back the medical staff in to do their jobs
