What was really noticeable was the size of Macrae and Phillipou as mids. Dont think we have ever had a Bont or Cripps type mid in size before, let alone two.

Carroll is no slouch in the size department either. With Boyd in the middle it really is a new look midfield.

Yes we have bigger mids, but not quite as big as Cripps and Bont though, but yes they are big!

Cripps and Bont are both also arguably the best two mids in the AFL....so it is not just size that counts.

But I agree it is good to have to two bigger mids as part of our mix.

Well........not much at all to add to the many detailed and excellent reports above....well done to all !!!!!

Today was certainly several notches above the "piss and giggle" session last Wednesday.

It was intense...competitive and very enjoyable to watch.

Several jaw dropping things happened...all of them good.

As many have said....Big Maxy looks in awesome nic.....if the footy gods are kind injury wise......look out !!!!!

He could be in for an big big year.

Mitch as many mentioned,seems to fine tuned his goal kicking....he took and an absolute pack screamer......and calmy slotted it from about 40 on the boundary.

Great to see Windy mixing it with the mids today.

No Ro again today as was the case Wednesday......it may just be that he is being "managed" and the "Boydster" was given a run and was quite impressive.

"I'm just wild about Harry" LOL.

Great to see Paddy Dow there....he was in civvies early but after training was in his training gear chatting with Hunter at the cafe......he seemed in great spirits which was great to see after his horrendous run since last last year.

As Joffaboy pointed out....it was great to see Roey and Joey watching from the balcony.......The Boss seemed content with the proceedings on field and quietly snuck up to the balcony for a chat with the boys.

Would have loved to gate crash the group....imagine some of the soried you'd hear.

How was Keeler today? Any chance he beats out hammer for a spot in the best 22 forward line? Although if they persist with Boyd ruck and Marshall forward then they will probably both find themself playing for sandy. Not convinced the Boyd experiment will last more than a handful of games though

Keeler had no influence…very disappointing but overall he’s been good this pre season so far

If Owens has improved his ball drop, that's a pretty significant observation!

Are we talking set shots or general play? He changed the ball drop last year on his set shots and he improved dramatically from 2023. Not always on line but he had a method. So if he's showing improvement again then the method is just getting better embedded.

Back in the day I watched Loewe have a 100 shots after nearly every training session with Peter Hudson watching like an eagle. It wasnt one year that he improved it was a few years.

I presume Chito's improvement is coming along similarly?

Last season Mitch was doing work with David Wheadon - focus on ball drop and running in straight to the target via a rope as a guide - pretty sure that’s the basis for the improvement
