Training 27th Jan

Wow. Youre prob not going to enjoy reading some of this.

Tauru running laps

Clark, Peckett rehab

Henry joined in fwds drill then back to rehab

No Marshall, Phillipou

Pat Said very impressive in 1 on 1

Steele speaking to Physio, sat out midfield drill. Just holding footy, Steele is fine.

NAS up to pyhsio also, rubbing back of right hamstring off field with physio. NAS out again after 15 mins. Fitness test of some sort. Ran half a lap. Couple of run throughs. Hes done for the day. Hopefully just awareness.

Set play drills using ball ups.

Broken up into 4 teams very physical.

Keeler as a fwd. Very nice park mark.

Ross very vocal during drills.

King is getting it kicked over his head. Windy main culprit.

Ross Lyon - "Wilson Half back, we're gonna get you looking like ****ing Sinclair"

Caminiti now off. Not sure what's wrong. Inside with trainers. Didn't come back on.

Hastie very hard landing. He's ok. He is running around like their witches hats. Moving very nicely.

Boyd 1 on 1 vs Arie, ball hit the ground Boyd so fast. Handball into Carroll. Nice goal.

RTB one on one chat with Boxshall.

Henry and Clark look to be running full speed 200s

Windhager treatment to upper right leg. Just looks like deep heat around the back of the knee area.

Now broken into 2 teams. No real definite stronger team. A good mix.

King a quick spew before the match sim starts

Max Hall unbelievable crumb off a huge pack across the body from around 50m out. The whole ground goes off. Awesome goal.

Dodson just put Boyd on his arse. Boyd went down smiling.

Boyd now into room with trainers. Hasn't come back out. Looks like a Pec.

Hill crunched. Winded I think. He's fine.

King 2 or 3 very nice contested marks on Wilkie

This is getting ridiculous. Howard now down. Looks serious. He will be out for a long time. Looked like a broken arm or shoulder. Screamed out the whole ground heard. Pretty serious. Fingers crossed it aint too bad.

Small amount if running at end.
Let's hope none of those injuries are too serious.

Surely Barrat doesn't get the full back gig against seasoned gorillas or could he?

So… alongside The Metronome (Wilkie), we’ve now got…

Barrat (194cm) - Absolute behemoth of a man-child. Ready body. Can play both ends. Might be too steep a learning curve.

Cordy (195cm) - Runs like a winded double-amputee, but has experience and is a mature body.

Caminiti (196cm) - Big, oddly athletic, and has a healthy dose of mongrel. Very much untried as a KPD.

Keeler (198cm) - Had some experience down back for Sandy, but seems to be training in his natural position as a key forward.

Not ideal.

Hastie reports are rock solid this pre season. Great that he's coming along so quickly. Is he a genuine smokey for a round one gig?

Not ideal but very exciting! Who knows what this uncertainty can unveil

We also have Webster, McLennon, O'Connell, and Shoenmaker.
None are key positions but Cordy is, and the bacline can be shuffled about to suit.
Our defence is team based as well so it is not a total disaster.

Shame about Doogs, but he will be back. Hopefully only misses a month of footy.

Cordy the obvious choice for me. Played some okay games in 23 before Hogan embarrassed him in the final.

Wouldn't be opposed to Hammer. Maybe Wilkie has to do a job at full back on occasion and Barrat gets a crack a smaller CHF type.

Will be interesting to see what they go with.

Wow if he requires an immediate reco it will be Howard done for the majority of the year. Injuries in the next month will again dictate our season.

Howard is an important cog, that will hurt big time when we don't even have a ready made replacement for Battle.
