1 point. The margin of the Rd 6 game between DLS and Uni Blacks ultimately decided 4th place as a reversal of that result would see the bellers in action next week. After such an ordinary 2nd half probably don’t deserve a spot but still disappointing to finish 5th. Club needs to improve its depth before 2017 as they were exposed when the inevitable injuries kicked in.

After losing 2 flags in the last 3 years I really hope the T’s get the job done this year. A good club who go about things the right way.
Mounting injuries can have a major adverse affect of performance. Particularly when a side loses key players. All sides feel it. Even caused Trinity some headaches during the year and they have reasonable depth.

Notwithstanding that I thought your guys were disappointing on occasions. Particularly when it counted. For example, there was quite a bit on the line against the 'Snowdogs' at home and I thought you were poor on the day. The 'Bellers' also caused themsleves some grief by inaccuracy on a couple of occasions.

I guess you’ll lose a few. I believe Leigh Harrison has called it quits. Been a wonderful servant of your club.

Great to see Paul Satterley has been reappointed.

I’m all over Trinity too. Wasn’t at the game yesterday but my informant tells me that Xavs were hit by injury during the game which meant they were operating with a diminished bench for a good part of the game. If so, to get so close was a pretty good effort.

Looking forward to the finals. Go ‘Ts’

I heard the injuries were a result of the surface at Toorak Park. If only the VAFA had stepped in to ensure player safety.

Meanwhile, no injuries at the University in what was a fantastic game.

S.Salopek hung up the boots yesterday. Congratulations to him.

Interesting to see how SKOB go about retaining the other ex AFL squad, Gysberts, Gilham, Bail and Strauss.

Will Jamar bring any with him?

The Bernies game was one out of the box. The weakest side the club put out for some time. I think only 8 from the Rd 1 team took part that day and clearly the next rung are not quite up to it yet. We are too reliant on a handful of players and need to improve our depth if we want to mix it with the better teams. And yes inaccuracy has plagued the team all year. Last week with a decent side in we kicked ourselves out of it and something like 2 – 9 with the wind in the 3rd proved the difference. Had our chances but four teams have been better across 18 rounds and that’s really all that matters.

Yep Leigh Harrison played his last game. Could easily go on but sustained a lot of injuries this year and missed most of the 2nd half of the season. A great player who will be sadly missed. Expect a few other will bow out also.

Andrew Scott hanging them up for Collegians. A-grade premiership player, VIC representative player and a great bloke around the club. Came through our U/19's where he won the comp B&F back in the day.

Would have mattered little Rooster. De La had no bench from early on the game yesterday and finished the game with 17 fit players. Four key players unlikely to have got up for next week and against the might of Xavs it would have been a very big ask.

Carey... Gee they have some work to do. Don’t mean to put the boots in but I can’t remember a club whose overall depth (1s and 2s) is so far off ‘A’ grade standard. What they have at the moment will battle in B grade so hopefully they can attract some players. They seem like a good club run by decent people but need to consolidate for a few years and build a list rather than construct one around 4 or 5 stars.

Ts and OX Grand Final and like most neutrals hope Trinity get the prize.

Whats that smell at EP? Now Old Xavs get all their teams at the same venue on the same day despite seniors finishing 3rd. Just wait until they get Lethleens fixture spreadsheet in their hands for next season.

I hear also that Toorak Park was offered up as a cheaper option to the VAFA for a Premier GF venue and the Premier Trophy will be renamed the Tim Okleshaw cup. Stay tuned for next weeks instalment.

You should have mentioned that Scotch has the same ladder positions as OX (seniors 3rd, reserves 1st) and their teams are playing on separate days.

The Premier finals draw is a blight on the integrity of the VAFA. Both uni clubs have been duped.

Blues - both seniors & reserves finished 2nd, have earned the double chance yet they are made to play their 2nd semi finals on different days.
Blacks - get to face up to an Old Xavs triple header (basically a home game) on Sunday.

What happened to 2nd semi final day and 1st semi final day?

I know in the past if there has been only one club with both senior & reserves in the finals then the schedule has been tweaked for 'convenience' to that club but never to the detriment of one or more of the other clubs.

Sholly should be ashamed of himself. His time is up.

It's just shameful stuff.
This Xavier love has to stop at headquarters.
I'm hearing that Xavs have asked to have 19 guys on the field at the one time and only 3 on the bench. Supposedly Sholly is keen to let it happen.

I get the point.

You've got three clubs with multiple teams in finals. OT, UB, OX.

I think the fairest draw would have been to ensure the highest finishing senior team club gets the neatest draw, which is OT, followed by UB and then OX.

Couldn't really happen as Blues reserves have to make way for Trinity reserves in priority and thus OX look to be favoured.

It's not the case IMO as one of Trinity or Blues had to play their reserves final on the Sunday. Trinity finished top, so they get the best draw.

Why not play the Seniors & Reserves 2nd Semi Finals on 2nd Semi Final Day as has always been the case? The only time this gets changed is when there is only one club with Sen & Res participating in the finals - as HF points out, this year there are 3 so it shouldn't be fiddled with.

In 2014 Blacks finished top in the Seniors and 3rd in the Ressies– same as Old Trinity this year. The Blacks Seniors played on 2nd Semi Final day at Sportscover Arena (following the Reserves 2nd Semi Final) and the Blacks Reserves played their 1st Semi Final at Trevor Barker Oval (prior to the Seniors 1st Semi Final). Blacks were not awarded the ‘advantage’ of having its seniors and reserves play on the same day at the same ground because they finished top.

Reckon this all began over a beer at Toorak Park at around 5pm Saturday. "And the winner is OX and OT..."

Marty Pask has left AJAX and will be announced as the new coach at SKOB. His employment as a AFL player manager irresistible to the SKOB hierarchy with the lure of more ex AFL players on the table.

Dont AFL Player Managers try their hardest to get the top $$ and conditions for their Clients??? Cant believe there would be to many $$$s coming out of Skobs. Of course I could be wrong......

Welcome to our Zimbabwe viewers.....

Though I note that this is probably intended as sarcasm!

Very quick! If true, does that suggest SKOB were talking to Pask while he was still coaching AJAX?

Trinity smashing Blues.
10.3 plays 3.2
Iezzi dominating. 93 for Blues gave away a terrible downfield that resulted in a goal. Bad bloke.
Hadn't noticed before but Quinn and Rippon have really short legs. Their butts are about 50cms tops from the ground. Amazing they can even run.
FF for Blues, 76, having a shocker. His only 3-4 attempts in a contest, and he hasn't even raised his arms to try and mark once. Truly bizarre. Just sort of stands there.

14.3 plays 6.4
Q-Ball needs to put someone on Iezzi. He is killing it. 20 is not good enough.
Rippon having a Barry Crocker.
Blues doing better, but no chance.

All over. Hedgeburners by 10 goals plus. Big Brendan yet another BOG award. They have a picture of him in the foyer at the New England Hotel.
Geappen (may be spelt wrong), number 76 for Blues has just left the change rooms to head home and not had a shower. As he was given a bath during the game.
