Dylan Thomas was from Old Carey as well, hence my point that you had 20% outsiders.
Thomas went to Wesley and best mates with some of the Collegians boys.
Played Old Carey out of school through their alignment with Coburg when playing VFL.

From memory maybe only Beilby and Nick Canny were non Wesley outside of Mirra and Sof in the flag.
The argument can probably be shared - the school definitely provided the bulk of players but probably the best 2 players that season were from outside.
Agree Mirra was AFL level talent.

Tom Sheridan I think was the other ex AFL player who FF referred to who came for a couple of years

Your argument doesn’t stack up, he would be a 1 pointer if he went to Wesley.

Did his last 2 years at Wesley.
Yes understand to be a 1 pointer you have to be at a school for minimum 3 years.

Anyway Plats I’m ok that a little bit of outside talent supplementing a club can be a good thing.
In the case of Collegians drawing from a co-ed school (and thus a smaller talent pool) it would definitely help them to remain competitive

Wesley has three campuses across Melbourne, with 1850 boys, more than Scotch College and similar to Xavier College.

Apparently 'Monash' is called Monash and plays at the University ground. My (Monash, a former military colleague) source once told me that their team is made up of mostly (non-Uni), but local footballers.
My grandson, currently playing with the Willi CYs U19s attends Monash. Neither he nor any of his Uni colleagues, many of them footballers, have ever been approached.

He should be playing at SKOB!

Very good player. Averages 40+ goals a year for Pascoe Vale in the EDFL and was a key figure in the team that lost the grand final to Mick McGuane’s Keilor. Watson is the also the nephew of St Bernard’s coach Steve Alessio.
PACO has run out of $$$$ ........... The Panel Beater maybe has given up?

He went to St Kev's and plays with Willi CY's, where over twenty former Skevs now call home.

With the CYs in the Premier echelon, the young boys can't see the point in crossing the bridge twice weekly for training, (during peak hours). Most of them have played with the Williamstown Juniors, and are happy to join their junior football colleagues.

The U19s enjoy the banter playing against their former college and school footballing classmates.
