Gleeson appointed as UB's coach. His brother also coaching/playing there.

Vafa site detailing that ex Marcellin player and coach, Glenn Cox, is the new coach at Carey. Don't know much about him but he was obviously a good player by reading his record.

Outstanding player and individual. Marcellin would not be in C grade had Glenn continued coaching them.

Good appointment you would think. Highly regarded in VAFA circles. Entire Carey coaching staff who had been lured across as a package from the EFL last season have collectively moved back to he EFL (Vermont) despite the club wanting them to stay on. Nothing like staying for the long haul and sticking around to help a club in their time of need !

So what exactly has gone wrong at Carey? Why the predictions of such doom this season by some on here?

Wouldnt read too much into it. They have always lacked depth and last season got about 6 games each out of their best dozen. Howat did his knee in the rep game, Rice broke his arm 3 games in, and so on. Time will tell.

Ross Young appointed captain of the new Richmond VFL side. Big loss for Uni Blues.

Apologies for quoting myself! but as reported on the Premier A thread, Jonno Nash also gone for Blues, moving to Beaumaris so that he can stay in A Grade.

Here's something for you Maxxy, my end of 2014 finishing positions after the finals.

St. Kevins
Uni Blues
Old Melb
Ajax

Old Ivanhoe
Mazenod
Old Fitzroy
Old Hail
Caulfield
Old Carey

ok.. now it is 2014 , just
my crystal ball says, prior to finals
Based on not much, and going by my efforts in years past, Caulfield and Fitzroy are probably Premierbound, however for the fun of it

Uni Blues; lost some, gained some, but should be very strong you would think
Old Melb; 1pt from Premier last year
Old Carey; doom and gloom on here, but have announced Tom Roach as well as some returns on website
St Kevins; well documented that they have always been therabouts

Ajax;were thereabouts last year
Mazenod; some quality with apparently more coming if you believe the prem c website
Old Ivanhoe; anyone with the Heta's should be more than competitive
Fitzroy;just hung on last year...
Caulfield; see above re fitzroy
Old Haileybury; Ridgeway gone, limped home in the second half of last year with one win from the last 6 or 7
Is there/are there any recruiting news or significant losses yet? (other than blues who seem to have both, but do every year)

What makes you say that?
Two things - Glenn had great respect from the playing group which has not happened since his departure (Dodds, McPherson and the incumbent - which is an indictment on the players and admin at Marcellin). His attitude to football rubs off on those around him quite easily.

More admin Id say, too much involvement instead of letting coach / coaches do there stuff. Im sure by looking at website new President will sort out a few of them and do it his way instead of being walked over and hearing one opinion / s in the past...

Isn't this a B Grade Thread, not "Almost made it to B Grade over the last two seasons but came up short" thread?
