Ashby goals with the last kick of the day to put Carey in A Grade. Very much deserved as they had a lot out and injured. Great game.
Jaksch played probably only 20 minutes of the second half. Clearly hampered by a calf. Interesting to see if they risk him next week. Charlie Thompson an IN for OC next week after Richmond’s loss today in the VFL.

Reserves prelim decided by 2 points (Blacks prevail) and seniors by 4 points (Blacks couldn’t win 2 nail biters). Next week Beauie to win the reserves GF and Bernards to win the senior GF.

Only 2 days out from the final B Bonanza.
The weather gods have not been kind.
Cold, wet and...WINDY!
35knots = 50/60 at the Wick.
Does the weather make it more of a raffle? I say yes.
However Bernie’s big bodies love a scrap.
Snowdogs for me..but only by 16 pts.

The conditions impact both teams equally Hippster. And wet, windy conditions will mean a more physical encounter over 4 quarters. So, the weeks break for Bernards will be beneficial. Makes the first quarter very important. OC have started well in both finals - and will need to again, whilst also applying early scoreboard pressure.

I still think OC will be sore from last weeks second half as well.

And in wet conditions in the second semi, Bernards held OC to 2 behinds in 2 quarters of football. If Bernards are “on”, they are the better side and should win. No idea what margin.

Agree Bagman, but as part of my commitments or commitment perhaps, I had a little look over the last quarter last week on VAFA TV, accompanied by Inner FM (was brilliant by the way!)
and I really noticed how much Carey dominated that last term. And how small and nippy they looked. Must have laid 30 tackles to Blacks 10. I think a wet and windy day will suit them. Particularly with their lack of tall forwards and the inclusion of a couple of hard in and under types.
I think that St Bernard’s would be far too big and tall on a fine sunny day.
But perhaps I’m just over thinking things, as id like a nice close game.
Good luck. I’m sure you won’t need it.
Play on..

What committments do u speak of?

Two changes to OCs side that lost to Bernards two weeks ago. Jones and Jaksch both out injured. Replaced by Thompson (a decent in) and Cushen (promoted from reserves side of 2 weeks ago, played last week).

Bernards name 23 - my guess is they will be unchanged.

Expect a fierce contest all day. Bernards to prevail in a tight contest.

Carey going in pretty small. I’m sure they are happy its a wet and windy day where their missing two key forwards would have had a tough day at the office. But regardless, that’s two big outs. Bernie’s have had a great run with injuries and to be unchanged is ideal. Plus having had a nice weeks break.
Everything is pointing to a Snowdogs triumph, and I’m tipping them by a few sausage rolls..but expect it to be far closer than what jumping Joe Pignataro expects.
Great day for a Wick burger.

3 changes..
Reid also played that day and King was playing for Port Melbourne and is now in.

Joe P has two massive flaws Hippster - a one eyed passion for Bernards, and he is a one eyed Pies fan. So all things he says related to Bernards and the Pies requires significant dilution!

Well done Bernie’s. They were magnificent today. Much deserved win. Clear top side of the comp this year. Their massive % highlighted this.
What I noticed today was the difference in physical strength and size between the two teams. Looked like men vs boys. Snowdogs are cut. They are like a walking gym advertisement. They have obviously trained hard and now get to drink the rewards tonight.
Well done Carey on going up. Last week showed that there was not much between Carey and Blacks, so they did well to win the big promotion game.
I spoke with a prominent panther today and they told me that they had 5-6 very good players out today, lost to season ending injuries early in the year and obviously to Jones and Jaksch today. They believe there are some good kids coming through and they have their eyes on some good recruits as well. So good luck in A next year.
How good is Tom Caven? Would have taken more marks today than Carey’s entire team. How good is Jack Mack!
What a bull Bentick was in the first half when the game was won.
I think St Bernard’s will be very strong next year. I hope they all go round again.
Been a great year of B Grade footy.
Congrats Bagman..enjoy the victory.

Outstanding result Hippster. Indeed. I expect the 22 today to go around again. If they do will be exciting for the club.

Congrats Bagman.
Thanks Bedford. Am looking forward to 2019. Prem is such a big step up from Prem B, but the playing group is very good. 2 senior premierships in 4 years is rare for Bernards. Prem or Prem B is irrelevant. It just fosters a great feeling around the club. Success is infectious. So we move into 2019 full of anticipation. Exciting times.
