With its own Railway Station?

Thanks for the geography lesson seaside. Would be grateful if you could complement the sightseeing tour with some footy talk. How are Willy going to fare in B grade next year? Must be a very exciting for your club coming up against some long term VAFA heavyweights (albeit they are currently sitting in B grade).

Jimmyjack an old player favourite and former senior coach back as an assistant coach for season 2020? If what I was told at MV over the weekend is true it's a great get for the club.

Sorry God Yeah , I am right out of the loop and can bring no news of recruitment or coaching appointments. If what you say is correct and based on the cryptic clues then yes a great appointment.

While hopeful of some new players, I genuinely think that if they can manage to keep what they had last year intact and more importantly get their better players on the park they will be right at the pointy end of B grade.

Expect the other clubs that have recently featured regularly in B grade to be the major threats, particularly Blacks who were stiff to relegated and then unlucky not to have been promoted in each of the last two season. Big wraps on Williamstown and looking forward to seeing how they go also.

Any information you can share?

OC having players jump ship. May be lucky to survive Prem B.

After battling for years in Prem C, Ben Deller jumps after being promoted to Prem B. Missed out on the senior Grand Final team. Dummy Spit???

CY’s should retain majority of the list that won both reserves and seniors in 2019, with a big influx of 19s pushing up to senior football for 2020 which has been the main catalyst of the teams rise to Prem B.

VFL connection with Williamstown has only gotten stronger also which hopefully attracts more players to play if not playing with the senior VFL side.
Club also hoping to play more home games at the VFL ground in 2020 as part of the stronger connection with the VFL club.

Looking forward to watching the clubs first year in Premier B. Massive accomplishment coming all the way from Div 3 in 2007.

I won’t disappoint JJ and happy to take your advice. There will be more geography and history and the CYs will feature thus keeping a football continuum.

As beforementioned by FF84 “CYs should retain majority of the list that won both reserves and seniors in 2019, with a big influx of 19s pushing up to senior football for 2020 which has been the main catalyst of the team’s rise to Prem B’.

2015 had the CY’s first game in C Grade which brought the Club back to Earth with a 20 goal loss, at home, to Marcellin. It took about 5 games for the boys to adjust to the quicker and more intense level. Willi has no doubt that this could/would/might/probably will/hopefully won’t happen in 2020.

Once adjusted, with such a young and talented team……

All a little hush hush on this page. What is the scoop? Reading A grade forum, Matt Dea to Blacks. Not in a position to confirm this as yet, but would be a good player in B.

Has appeared on the transfer page so I guess that is as confirmed as you can get for November. Honestly expect my club to be strong in this grade. Not in the loop but hearing some new and returning players will bolster the list and player retention is good. Carey always a threat in B grade but If rumours are true it seems they may have lost a few.

Way too early to make solid predictions but unless they have significant departures, Blacks will be in the mix. St Bedes an unknown – could be top 3 or bottom 3. Same with Haileybury. Must respect a team that goes through any season undefeated so looking forward to seeking what Willy can produce.

And will you be going to the shithole in round 2 ?

Absolutley. Really looking forward to seeing some new venues. Hopefully being April the weather will be a bit kinder. Particuarly keen to get out to Brunswick Street. Shame OGs gone as Como would be another worth seeing.

Another classic little drive by by you Bedford. Not sure why you feel the need to be so negative heading into a new season, however each to their own. Good Luck to you!
Round 2 should be an interesting affair as I believe we have some ex De La Salle College students running around in our 1st's, 2nd's, 3rd's and 4th's, will be interesting to see if there are still connections from both teams.

Matt Dea to Blacks. Very disappointing for Panthers as they had several discussions for the 2019 season pre being listed at Essendon and again late this year for 2020 season

Classic truth.

There is. The Gray brothers and Dylan Jones most prominently.I know our boys will be looking forward to it.Shame Willy not given a home fixture for Rd 1 to unfurl their flag. Assume it will occur Rd 2. Happy to be part of it and should be a cracker.

I heard Jones was given a job by SKOBAFL and then deserted to Willy.

My last post referred to the CY’s first game in C Grade where Marcellin just sneaked in by 20 goals and it took half a dozen games to adjust to the C Grade tempo.
The Willi CYs had their first VAFA game at Albert Park in 1984. The year before ANZ Bank had finished 2nd last in F Grade. CYs had played Footscray ITOB, the previous year’s F Grade Premiers in a practice match and had beaten them soundly. First game against ANZ, new recruits, plenty of confidence and were beaten by 12 goals. Welcome to the Ammos.
After the last game of the season, the CYs were Premiers defeating Preston Marist Brothers OB, and ANZ Bank came last. After the first 8 games, the CYs were last (I think) on the ladder, adjusted their style from Western Suburbs type football to the quicker and more precise Ammo style, albeit in F Grade, and Whoo Hoo.
JJ, the Willy CYs so far have three recruits, all from lower ranked VAFA clubs, all of whom are keen to test themselves at a higher level. Players will have a few light runs, starting Monday, nothing compulsory and will include a few swims. Players run from the Fearon and along our beautiful sandy beach, a site to behold
during our warm Spring weather, but the view is spectacular during the Summer.

More next week.
Nothing to do with the ground in Winter.

Ended up winning a flag at the club and suburb he grew up in, with mates he grew up with and winning BOG in the Grand Final whilst he was at it. Who could blame him?
