My early call is Bernards and Fitzroy going up. If this happens it will hopefully kill off all the talk on here that only big school sides can make A grade. Are we handing the premiership cup to the Snowdogs now? Have looked very sharp in their opening 3 rounds to date.
If the Reds get up watch all the big AFL names come out of the woodwork to lend support. (Talking off-field connections.)My early call is Bernards and Fitzroy going up. If this happens it will hopefully kill off all the talk on here that only big school sides can make A grade.

Have said this before but with the 2 up – 2 down nature of the VAFA there will always be some movement up and down in the Premier grade. But for the foreseeable future it will remain the domain of the big APS school based and Melbourne Uni clubs. That is just reality. My early call is Bernards and Fitzroy going up. Frearson drains as well, if not better than any ground in the compHave said this before but with the 2 up – 2 down nature of the VAFA there will always be some movement up and down in the Premier grade. As if to underline the gap between A and B grades – collectively Haileybury and Uni Blacks have 1 win between them in the seniors and a draw between them (against each other) in the reserves. St Bernards (9th in Premier in 2022) are undefeated in both grades with very healthy percentages.
Bernies of course are very familiar with Premier grade and have won a flag in the last decade. But have also been relegated twice from their last two starts in completed Premier seasons. Having said all that it would be brilliant to see Fitzroy in A grade. They look to be a club on the rise with exceptional numbers, very good depth and a brilliant venue. Hope it happens.
Hope the drainage is good at Fearon as the forecast looks horrendous. My fading memory of visits to Monash in past decades was that it tended to hold the water and became very muddy, like most suburban grounds back in the day.
