My fact checking says the origins of the current club began with Glenhuntly in 1909 ...
(Source: Glen Eira's club website)
They all came to Packer Reserve the home of South Caulfield fc instigated in 1970. The others came before they fell into oblivion. Balaclava ere long gone and were a part of Glenhuntly. Glenhuntly were in the process of shutting the doors and we took them in. Same with CBC etc.

Glenhuntly St Anthony's were in the SECFL a comp that went under and got swallowed up by others . So you started South Caulfield FC . You took them in , you merged

I remembered umpiring Glenhuntly matches in the late 1990s. Their website confirms the merger between Glenhuntly (and all its forefathers such as AMP Society, North Caulfield YCW, etc.) and St Kilda-Sth Caulfield happened in 1999.

I don't know what he's trying to prove , i've found out that he has had nothing to do with the club for a few years .

Back to some Prem B discussion, outside of Beaumaris who have been spruiked as the early premiership favs and a new coach down at West Essendon.

What other recruitment news do we have? Love to hear some updates on the sides that have been promoted/relegated or something from the Roy Boys, De La's little brother by the beach or even the Jackas.

Not much ever comes out of the Jackas , they just top up with juniors as their program is huge . Beaumaris bloke calling anyone that moves , a fair bit of talk about him and what people think.

Have got on good record that Glen Eira bribed students at Mckinnon to poach them from other clubs. Some pretty grimey tactics used too, gifting them alcohol for example.

Someone may know more than me but pretty sure Glen Eira got sanctioned for it in the end.
Can only hope they did?

Long time between posts for myself.. Happy to help steer things back to some footy talk.

Beaumaris have recruited strongly according to there social media. Appears a large number of there players are completing VFL pre seasons so that could go either way when it comes to running out at Oak Street. Kai Owens and Max Williams for example locks at Frankston VFL.
A couple of Old Mentonians players also appearing as new recruits, who are in crisis at the moment and more likely than not won’t be fielding a side in Prem C for 2023.
Looks like Josh Bourke as enticed many players to the sharks from his time at the Sandringham Dragons. I heard him on a local radio station last week saying that he is apart of “the best coaching group in local football!”

There bayside neighbours have also announced a handful of recruits via there social media.
Alex Smout returns to St Bedes after some successful seasons in the NEAFL for GWS and Canberra demons. Impressive write up with his achievements during his time interstate on the socials.. one would think he wrote it himself!
Dan Garside and Tom Garside also appear to have returned from there stint away at Euroa in the Goulburn Valley League. Bring close to 300 games back to Brindisi Street. Handy!

The tigers I’m told will also be boosted by the return of Kye Beveridge from interstate and James Mangoni from injury which saw him miss 2022 who is arguably one of the better medium/tall forwards in the comp.

Will be interesting to see how Trinity and St Bernard’s go in 23 coming down from A grade. No doubt neither club wants there visit to be a long one.

Josh Gorman is a star player no doubt back at Beaumaris but thought Owens had finished at VFL and was going to just play B Grade next season
