Beaumaris player points from the weekends game.
22 names = 47/45 points.
#18 (4 pointer) listed as an emergency, has not had his points added to the total /45
The 43/45 total points only reflects 21 players.

I am puzzled by the naming of the 22nd player as an ‘emergency’. Have not seen that before. Some creative accounting perhaps? I suppose if they only played with 21 they are in the clear. However if #18 played (and it would not be hard to establish if he did) then they have breached the cap. That would be extraordinary on two counts. First that based on recent penalties that a club would get so close to breaching the cap and second that a club like Beaumaris, with its massive junior set up and well entrenched U19 program would play with so many imports. Save for the odd high profile ex AFL type they have been almost entirely home grown.

No wonder the coach must've called 30 kids from other clubs the day he was appointed

The Senior Coach does have a big Junior base to develop and that would be a requirement of being hired with all their resources so if you’re over the points cap after yesterdays great win that is unforgivable

Appears that overnight one of their players from the team sheet has suddenly dropped 2 points, which now sees the total at 45/45. Same has changed on the team sheet from round 11 v SBMT which has also been changed overnight.

Will be interesting to see what comes of it all…

I would say it would probably be correct. Who is the player in question that dropped the 2 points? If we can work out who we might be able to trace his background.
Surely Beaumaris wouldn’t be that stupid to play with too many points!

Earlier in the season after an “easy” win against a bayside team, a key figure at Beaumaris smuggly professed openly “they are so shit, what an embarrassment, would actually be surprised if they survived relegation”
It was a crazy take at the time and since then they would all have to be in a highly concerning mood down at Beaumaris after the blatant cheating that been going on and mass walk out of players. They really should lose all points for the total disregard to the rules and spirit of the competition

What players besides Nardino have walked out ?

Following an investigation into the official team sheet lodged by Beaumaris Football Club, and an audit of player points values assigned to Beaumaris Football Club players, the VAFA has today informed Beaumaris Football Club that they have breached Rule 50C of the VAFA Rules by providing inaccurate or misleading information to the VAFA regarding a player point allocation which breached the team player points budget (45) in the below completed matches of the Premier B Men’s competition in season 2023:

Round 11 against St Bedes / Mentone Tigers
Round 12 against St Bernards

In accordance with VAFA Rule 50, Beaumaris Football Club have played an ineligible player in Rounds 11 and 12 of the 2023 season.

Accordingly, Beaumaris Football Club shall forfeit the four premiership points from those matches together with their ‘points for’ score in each of those matches.

The Beaumaris Football Club opposition Clubs in Rounds 11 and 12 will be awarded the four premiership points from those matches, and have the option of including both scores from their respective match in their percentage or not including either.

In addition, Beaumaris Football Club are fined $2,000 (to reflect $1,000 for each of the two (2) player point breaches) in accordance with VAFA Rule 50C.

The ladder for the VAFA Premier B Men’s competition will be adjusted once the Beaumaris Football Club opposition Clubs in Rounds 11 and 12 inform the VAFA of their decision on whether they would like to include both scores from their respective match in their percentage or not include either.

Beaumaris Football Club have advised the VAFA that they will be appealing the decision.

FWIW on what grounds could the appeal get up? What a stuff up

This places them outside the 4 immediately. Quite the shake up as we enter the back end of the season.

STBM with a nice little bump in % as well.
Bit of a farcical penalty in my opinion. They lose the 4 points from the St Bernards game and some percentage. The fine for each offence is barely more than teams get for a melee. So Beauy played two games with 45+ player points, but their only penalty is to essentially forfeit those games. Not much of a disincentive to breach the rules.
I would have thought the VAFA should have penalised them in a way that takes away the prospect of playing finals. Would be ridiculous if they were to make a GF and be promoted.
