Another note from the weekend, after a month of footy, it is pretty evident that the top 5 (Xavs, OMs, OB, SKOB and Blues) will be the top 5 come the end of the year. The remaining sides (St Bernards, Collegians, Caulfield, Scotch and Trinity) will be merely fighting to avoid the drop.

On what has been offered up, would completely agree. However we probably need another 5 weeks to be sure the split is as clear.

Because I forgot last week, getting in early:

Old Brighton vs Old Melburnians - Match of the day
Caulfield Grammarians vs Old Xaverians - Hoping for an upset, but being realistic
University Blues vs Collegians - May be closer than some think
St Bernards vs Old Scotch - Too good at home
SKOBS vs Old Trinity - Ouch

Good idea getting in early, I’ll do the same.

Brighton with the great t***ies inspiring the Tonners.
Caulfield in the upset with Xavs tapering off a bit.
Blues in a hard fought contest.
St Bernards too good for a Scotch who just aren’t anywhere near this level.
St Kevin’s who haven’t played Waite or Cachia yet against what will be a desperate Trinity.

Hi Over The Post You missed my tips put in earlier in the week, can you please update?

Old Scotch vs Uni Blues - Blues will trail early and then put up the spinnaker
Old Trinity vs Old Brighton - Brighton to stay undefeated
Old Melburnians vs St Kevins - OM's at home just
St Bernards vs Caulfield - Fields just away (hopefully Eddy is back)
Old Xavier vs Collegians - Claret & Stout to bounce back hard (hopefully Bewick is back)

Brighton aren’t undefeated.

Collegians' best on Saturday was sensational. David Mirra is a star at both ends, however the Lions lacked the polish to kill Blues off for good with some questionable accuracy in front of goal at crucial stages of the game.

Credit to Blues, putting Grimley in the ruck in the 2nd half and putting Cordy into the goal square helped change the game, as well as putting Cam O'Shea (who will be a Woodrow frontrunner) into the middle during their 3rd quarter fightback. Blues have a seriously dangerous and potent forward line.

No Eddy and No O'Rourke didn't hurt the Fields too much either. Well done to them on getting another win and a big scalp too in Xavs.

I'm hearing the Hedgies have parted ways with the coach

STATEMENT FROM THE OTGAFC
The OTGAFC would like to provide an important update regarding the senior coaching position of our men’s Premier division team.
After a disappointing start to season 2021, the OTGAFC and senior coach, Bernie Dinneen, have parted ways, effective immediately.
Bernie’s passion, commitment and enthusiasm in his time at OTGAFC has been unwavering. We sincerely thank him for his on-field leadership of our Senior side and wish him and his family well. Bernie will always be welcome at OTGAFC, and it must be noted and appreciated that he has volunteered to provide a smooth transition this week to the next senior coach.
As a Club, we are fiercely determined to do everything in our power to quickly develop our next set of players that can help us challenge for silverware. While this has been an incredibly difficult decision to make, the Club believes this is the right time for change, for both now and the future. This change allows us to be even more invested and aligned in this strategy thereby accelerating the development of our football program in 2021 and beyond.
With that, we would like to thank James Francis for agreeing to step up from senior assistant coach to our interim senior coach for the rest of the season. James will be assisted by current assistant coaches and all will be supported by our OTGAFC director of coaching, Paul Griffiths, who joined the Club at the start of the season. We wish James every success.
Bio: James Francis – Interim Senior Coach:
2011 – 2014 - Gippsland Power Football Club Under 18 Boys – Assistant Coach
2015 – 2017 - Marcellin Football Club – Senior Assistant Coach
2019 – Present - Old Trinity Football Club – Senior Assistant Coach
We would like to reiterate that this decision was not made lightly, but we are passionate about our path back to the top. These changes have that, and only that in mind.
As always, if anyone in our OTGAFC community would like to discuss this further, I am available at any time – 0413 014 389.
Neil Bowman
OTGAFC President

About time as the rumour had been doing the rounds for a while now that Dinneen was on the way out. He's actually a good coach and hopefully can find another gig next season somewhere.
