What a fantastic day to watch local footy. Went to Toorak park and is amazing condition with big ground. Caught end of ressies and Handley is still a gun. Hampson and Vandenberg in centre square for first bounce. When Hampson gets match fit he will not be beaten. Xavs raced away and it looked like it would be a flogging. However old heads Freezer and Dunell stepped up and made a game of it. Dunell is one of the most valuable players in comp and makes huge difference to OMs chances. Amazing to see Goss and Armstrong allowed to be on their own close to goal on several occasion. Was a great game to watch . Love watching the ammos.
Anyone think Xavs won by 10 goals😂😂

Old Xavs have lost two out of three just for the record and I reckon Mr Mirra and Mr Cachia will welcome going one on one with Mr Vandenberg.

Shaun Hampson was recruited to the XXXXAFL from Mt Gravatt club in Queensland. He debuted today as a 1 point player for OXXXXXAFL. Has he joined the Jesuits?

Believe he partakes in prayer before each game. Our father…etc etc.

It’s all happening in the VAFA. Given Mike Olotripo ’s positivity on this forum I’m glad the purple and gold are going well. SKOBAFL system is clearly the best in the league and has been for some time. The development of their young players should be lauded. There would’ve been a few sore bodies after the bayside clash. OBALUMNI, what a side. Long season ahead for the T BOYs. OXAFL need to show some grit away from home in the coming weeks, team is too talented to be fading late. Can already tell this will be a tight season up the top and down the bottom. Did fields get ahead of themselves? Much to play out.

Great summation Mr Angle! Re the big fella at OX, he hasn't played AFL or anywhere else for four years which means he is a designated one pointer. Not sure I agree with the rule but it is what it is.

Lest We Forget.

If that is correct good luck to Mr Hampson to step in and play at this level off 4 years in the wilderness he should be called Anthony the Great.

We did what we had to do on the weekend and got the 4 points against an Old Scotch side that we just couldn't put away. 4 points in the bank and retaining the McNeil Cup was sensational but our inaccurate goal kicking will come back to haunt us. 7.21 was our score at 3/4 time on a perfect dead still day at the Trott and thankfully we ended up on 13.22 with a handy little percentage boost. We cannot do that against sides like OB, OX and SKOB otherwise they will make us pay.

Ed Greene (younger brother of GWS star Toby) kicked 4 goals and probably the highlight of the day was every single Collegians player getting around second gamer Scott Beilby as he kicked his first goal for the club. Interesting story with him, he is mates with a few of our younger boys through his Oakleigh Chargers days and is currently VFL listed with Sandy. He was a St Kilda next generation academy player and is a lively type.

Also, it was terrific to see all the boys line up post game to cheer Kevin Segota off the ground. Kev is a lovely bloke and anyone who umpires 900 games over the course of their career has given the game great service.

Onto this week and the trip out to Glen Iris for the top of the table clash with SKOB. This will be a good test for our young side and we will get a good indication of where we are at with a couple of handy inclusions for this week's game for both sides, it will be the game of the round I am sure!

What's the process for the Rising Star? Clubs put boys and girls up for the award?

Today was what they refer to as a ‘Tipsters nightmare’.

However, it was great to see Mr Olotripo there at the King, along with his new friend and past Big Footy member, Mr Sausage Roll.

One undefeated team after round four, what a great competition we have this year.

Hippster will be having a few nightmares as well I imagine after OXAFL’s performance. Will be leaving their premiership run late by the looks. UNIAFL are nothing short of a disgrace after that showing. SKOBAFL showing similar signs to their premiership years.

UniAFL have potential. Only played with 43/45 this week

Just on the weekend, it was terrific to see Collegians take it up to SKOB for 3 quarters but in the end, SKOB were too good out of the centre, especially in the last quarter and we just couldn't keep up with them.

I do note that at the 6 minute mark of the final term, Jaryd Cachia started throwing around his arms at one of our youngsters who has lying on the ground at the time and it was not a good look, but other than that it was a great game played with great intensity.

I look forward to seeing the return class between David Mirra and Conor Ross as the former Hawk really put him to the sword at times throughout the game. Mirra is truly a joy to watch.

Bring on another tough away road trip for my lions at Toorak Park this week. Will the crisis meetings that I'm sure have taken place down in the rooms at Toorak Park bring out a fiery performance?? We will wait and see come 2pm Saturday.

Nice summation Mr Olotripo, I’m sure Mr Ross was happy for the team to take home the four points, and Mr Mirra happy not to be suspended for his cheap hit on Mr Ross in the last q.

Although Mr Mirra may be a joy to watch through your purple coloured glasses, he did give away a game turning 50 metre penalty as a result of his dirty act, which started the goal avalanche by the very young, inexperienced, nappy wearing, L-Plate driving, non shaving, living in at home SKOB outfit.

Have a lovely evening!
