AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
was definitely a pyke era thing, was ropeable in 2018 and 2019 where he did minimal to bring on younger guys on list
Not so much a thing now
At half rat power.Kicked 4 in the internal
Smith was noticeably out of step with other players. Others were trying to retain composure with the ball, use it constructively.
He's still a throw it on the boot and hoof it long merchant.
I reckon if Worrell was fit Butts would have struggled to make side in round 1
Has looked a shadow of himself the last 12 months .....did some remarkably stupid things in the FREO match ....handballing into midfield space, was terrible for an experienced player
Then Butts .....I counted a min 5 goals kicked on him, probably more .....currently an easy-beat in the air & too reactive to leads, which negates the pace he supposedly has ?
How do we measure continuity besides ingrained opinions? What would be considered a fair benchmark?
Having a quick look through last years numbers - for all teams - besides West Coast we had the least number of regular players (missed 4 games or less). Significantly less continuity than finals sides with only the Hawks , Giants, Bulldogs and North at a similar level.
Now it felt like we had a good run with injury so that would unlikely be the reason why we had more changes than other teams
So the stats say we had - excluding a Covid ravaged West Coast - the least continuity in terms of players for the whole of last year
Perhaps we can reduce the beating of that drum?

Butts has plateaued ....if not regressed the last 12 monthsI reckon if Worrell was fit Butts would have struggled to make side in round 1
I reckon Dawson is more there for his ball movement out of there than protecting Butts , but there is an element to that tooButts has plateaued ....if not regressed the last 12 months
Who is our anchor in the back half ....it seems Dawson is there to protect Butts
You need to look a little deeper, that's very simplistic analysis. Early part of the year we rolled through a few players, but we settled on our preferred 22 during the last half of the year. We made 1 unforced change in the last 5 games and that was dropping EH for the returning from injury TT.
Rahilly was pretty glowing in an interview + we hope that he comes onWhy is there such strong consensus that Pedlar is in the 22?
What have I missed?
(I really haven't been paying much attention this off/pre-season)
Kicked 4 in the internal
That maybe correct - If we are just talking the last 5 rounds I reckon by then they were focusing the second squad on the Sanfl tilt.

i reckon we made very few unforced changes during the back half, outside of getting best 22 back in following injury. We definitely threw it around a fair bit more during the earlier part of the season.
OK where did you hear this? Can anyone confirm, Milera not playing this week for personal reasons ?
*2-3 weeks.I reckon Dawson is more there for his ball movement out of there than protecting Butts , but there is an element to that too
Keane might be a chance of best 22 within 12 months
Quietly hoping we get 2017 Matty back
