Was just listening to the Demonland podcast from early December and Mitch Brown was discussed. Has anything happened in the last few months with him that may clarify his chances of contributing?

Also, is anyone aware of a Demons podcast that has regular shows throughout the offseason?

1. we picked Brown up as a delisted free agent.
2. not sure but someone here sure to know. I kind of doubt it - it would be a struggle to dream up enough content

I did a review of the podcasts last year I think but since then they have changed so here you go with updates and links. Most are not broadcasting yet

My order of preference currently is
1. The Deebrief which is more professional now.
2. Inside Melbourne, which gives the company line but has best access to players and staff
3. The Original Dees Podcast, which is good fun and has been running a long time
4. Demonland which has also improved over the last year, usually runs longer than the others and allows for real-time interaction.

I reckon they all provide a good service so it may be worth supporting, Deebrief and The Original use Patreon for sponsorship.

The Deebrief
Adrian Houghton, his brother, Nuggets and a bunch of other assorted mates talk all things Dees. They are also meant to be producing a special on behind the scenes of The Merger years. I like it because it makes me feel like I have friends.

The Original Dees Podcast
Slavs and Glove
http://www.deespodcast.com
A couple of wedding celebrant / comedian Melbourne tragics who love the Dees giving independant and often humorous insights, often with an interview of an old player like Brent Maloney thrown in.

Inside Melbourne - The MFC official podcast
Can link from the MFC website.
Have the best guest interviews because they have access to the players. Went off a bit last year probably because they were using it as a training ground to improve Jack Viney’s media skills, he being the host. Had the eloquence of ummmmm, well there was no eloquence, think visual equivalence of Milkshakes in that speedo photo.

Demonland Podcast
Just go to demonland.com. The player is at the top of most pages
Has Andy, Grapeviney, George From The Outer and if lucky, as was pointed out by Russian Demon the dulcet tones of Supermercado.

They’re the only ones I know of at this point in time.

This is awesome, thanks mate.

I remember watching him in one of his first games for us pulling the backline together after we let through a goal and driving the standard for what we do next. He's a leader.
to be fair he was shit for his first 5-6 games with us. In fact he has really done very little for us over 2 years (injuries havent helped) so I want him to show he can perform for us before we even consider him for a leadership role

I understand we shouldn’t expect much from a guy who was delisted. Still, we didn’t have too many lads who could actually kick a ball between the sticks last year, so who knows.
He’s there as backup, which as you highlighted, we didn’t actually have last year. So now if TMac or Weid get an injury, or if one of them is struggling for form, we’ve got a viable option so that we don’t need to rush them back, or persist with them.

I caught some forward 50 entry stuff at training last weekend where he was the main target, he actually looked pretty good, and in fairness to him, while he was delisted, there was many people, both fans and media, that were very surprised by it

As a 'break glass' option he offers more than Keilty and, probably, Tim Smith.

I have a feeling he could be one of those surprise contributors for us that ends up being a very handy pick-up for a few years, kind of like a Peter Vardy type (in contribution not attributes obv).

Ahh AmericanAFL you remind me of me before the weight of several disappointing seasons crushed my spirits.

In all seriousness I still remain positive for this season. ✌

I think lever definitely shoes leadership capabilities. But he has to actually play first. It's way more important he plays well for us than he leads us.

Hope springs eternal (or at least until one has been a Demon fan for a few years I guess).

Last year was a disappointment, but the optimism hasn’t been fully beaten out of me yet. But honestly, even I’v been surprised how much I’m looking forward to the season.

I just watched highlights of Pickett, and for the love of god please tell me this kid has a chance to play round 1.
I think he plays round one. We don’t have another small forward like him. He might be inconsistent early days but he’ll do things we haven’t seen for a while up forward.
