You're just sensationalizing it to discredit their concerns. People don't like it being forced down their throats by everyone. Simple.

You are correct the competition is funded by a competition (AFL men’s). You can probably list another 100 examples that I will agree with. But why then can’t the AFL fund and support a women’s league? What is so bad about it. What is wrong with it? Aside from it being forced down your throat.

I will agree with the criticism, as the women become more professional and they want a longer season and better pay. Then the levels of criticism and critiquing of the game should be fair game with out fear of playing the sexist card.

Christ, no one is saying here the world will collapse. It's an inconvenience and a pain in the a$$. I'm finding the exact same thing with the cricket. The women's news etc is mixed in with the men and it's bloody frustrating as i have zero interest in womens cricket.

Well done to those who can sit through a full game of women's football. I can't. I hope the Dees win as they are representing our football club, but until the skill level and scoring improve, I have no interest in watching more than maybe the start or end of our game. I have zero interest at all in watching any other club play.

Pretty hilarious the AFL are slamming everyone who criticized the AFLW as sexist. Basically AFLW is the macaroni drawing you stick on your fridge from a child and your not actually allowed to say it's rubbish.

The women's league is an artificial competition, a lot of the players have been taken from other sports and they've only been playing for a short time just to make some money. This current comp is a joke but it is encouraging young girls to play the game so over time the standard will eventually improve.

Have to laugh at the thought police getting uppity whenever someone criticises the game though, even BF mods are guilty of it. Talk about inequality, but the socialist left will never understand their hypocrisy

How my Saturday has been:

1. Saw an email that we had a game at Casey Fields today.
2. Drove to Casey Fields.
3. Realised it was a womens game.
4. Check the email, no mention of the game being a womens game.
5. Google mens practice game and realise its a few weeks away.
6. Jump in car and return home.
7. Mow the lawns.

That’s professional level chore procrastination/avoidance

I never said I wasn't interested in female sport. I quite enjoy watching women's beach volleyball.

And yes, it is nothing more than an inconvenience. Like Facebook now having an ad every third post! But it makes you start to question if this is the way it's going to be from now on, I may as well just delete the app which leads to the potential loss of interest or at least less interest. I definitely feel that way with Facebook now due to the change. Not that I was on it a lot, but I refuse to scroll through posts where 1/3 of them are ads. Minor gripe in life sure, but all AFLW news should be filtered through a stand alone AFLW website where all of those who love or have a fleeting interest can click on and know that 100% content will be focused on women's football. The AFL website should be purely about the men's competition. Not hard to do. Costs a few grand to set up a website and pay a few people to run it.

It’s ironic, seeing as the media attention that forces so much AFLW down our throats but obviously in this instance it wasn’t enough for some to realise it was an AFLW match.

The sad thing is it wasn't even click bait! The club was breaking the law by directly emailing marketing material that I had unsubscribed for.

Hey saj_21 do you enjoy watching the AFLW?

Not having a go - just interested.

I’m not so into it personally.

The AFL have pumped a shit load of money into it and more importantly they’ve really hung their hat on being progressive and supporting equalisation so I’m not surprised that they are pushing the product hard. They cant exactly turn around and say ‘this isn’t making us any money so we’re out’.

I love the concept but it’s just not good enough to peek my interest at the moment.

Another thing I noticed today (and I wish I took a screen shot to share with you all) was the AFLW footy show this afternoon made a glaringly obvious attempt to sexualise the panellists. the prettiest woman on the panel was dressed conservatively and the other 3 had their top 3 buttons undone and cleavage presented.

It was Abbey Homes and 3 others but I’ve forgotten their names sorry.
