Now we know the extent of the injury.

I ****ing told you all. I held it all in.

Thanks for picking a half back flanker with a shit kick in Bo Allan. And Liam Baker another half back flanker.

We lost yeo. So now it's Tim Kelly is our best mid. Thanks alot.

We are now challenging richmond for the spoon.

Did we bolster our midfield stock offseason? NOPE.

Mark my words this is going to be as bad as melb under Mark need

Wtf Baker. What copium are you on. The coach said Baker is a HBF full stop. Don't cope. What draftees are fighting for a mid spot. Our highest pick was a HBF with a shocking kick who is not a natural at touching the ball.

You know who would be good right now? SID ****ING DRAPER

All good and i'm barely awake. I think we've already unlocked a gem in Hutch and Allan is showing more midfield promise than I expected.

Hewett is on a deload cycle atm but with full fitness Hewett and Hall are coming for that midfield spot.
Hopefully your right, time for some younger players to take the hole left by Yeo and make it theirs.
Looking forward to Hutch showing more of what he did in that Geelong game, that was very impressive.
Hewett and Hall taking Yeo's spot between them would be a massive win for the club, bring it on.

Baker, Allan(projected top 10 pick), Gross and Graham(wouldnt have come without Baker) is a decent result for pick 3
I know we used that pick (46) on Gross but had we not traded we would have used our next pick (48) on Gross and possibly missed out on Grego, so he’s the player that has to be included, not Gross.

Also need to remember we may have told the Crows we were going to take Draper at 3 would they like to offer something to swap pick 3 and 4. Could have been their F1 for our F2. We’ll never know.

No we never will.
Absolutely stoked to have Graham and Baker on board, losing Yeo to injury only reinforces that.

Yeo out sucks but it’s something we have become accustomed to over the past few seasons.

We really need a young bloke to step up and break out in the midfield.
Would love to see Hall v Hutch battle it out for Yeo's spot over the remainder of the preseason. Hutch has his aerial ability and can play forward providing flexibility whereas Hall looks more of a like for like replacement with a bit of bull about him.
Hutch seems to have nice clean hands in tight whereas Hall has a good inside to outside transition game. Will be an interesting battle between the two and what the coaches want.

First priority should be clearance work.
I probably see Hutch complementing Harley a bit more with his quick hands in tight whereas Hall may add a bit of extra dynamism when Harley isn't attending the CBA's.

Graham may be able to provide a harder body and play a defensive role in the sqaure but he's not that great on the spread. He wasn't attending many cba's for Tigers for this reason, only 8 centre clearances for the year. He's endurance is great and he's had a really good preseason, so hopefully this won't be such an issue for us.

Can't wait to see a centre bounce with Reid, Hewett and Hall at some stage as a snapshot into the future.

We could have got Graham and Baker without giving up pick 3 .
It’s been done to death though. We ended up with the same player we’d have got if we kept 14 (Shanahan).

Plus it sounds like we were looking to split pick 3 from the outset. So overall it worked out even if the initial decision was questionable.

Yeo out and Graham in at least covers the big body inside .

But it is a massive loss in pace in the middle unfortunately.

Might have to have petch and ryan playing some centre bounces otherwise we are slow and will struggle to cover opponents on the spread
Grahams close to 10cm shorter and about 10kgs lighter than Yeo. He ain’t a big bodied mid

Do you feel bad that we paid 900k a year and pick 14 for a back pocket ?
I'm not really concerned about the salary, theres plenty worse players on more money in the comp.
I've already said many times I think we overpaid with pick14, but just because we overpaid doesn't mean we should play him out of position.
Imo we will get the most out of him in the backline

How much we're paying a player on our list is such a weird thing to get worked up about. If it's stopping us from re/signing players then sure, but somehow I don't think getting Baker stuffed up our Daicos brothers recruitment deal.

Thanks for holding it all in just a little longer.

Not all heroes wear capes.

Draft has happened, time to move on.

At this point Draper has proven about as much as Grego has. As much as Allan or Gross.

We haven't missed out on anything yet. Until you assess their careers in a few years after watching them play some games at the highest level, it's a pointless exercise.

Draper could be a dud. Or the next Relton. Or Lalor could. Who knows. Fair chance a couple of the top 10 are spuds though. Save your breath for melting later on.

I go to all the public training sessions and I am tellin ya all there is spring in the Eagles players steps like it happened in the 2010/11 pre season when they went from wooden spooners to almost winning the premiership.
Watch out Australia
I’ll gladly huff this copium all the way til the 8 minute mark of the first quarter of round one
