Isn't Howes a winger? Why are ditching Hibbo who was good on the weekend?

ThrillHowes had a lazy 34 touches and 16 marks on the weekend

Yes Howes is a winger, but he tends to play as a defensive winger so does a fair bit of intercepting and providing an option for team mates at half back.

He’s not a like for like replacement for Hibberd (who apparently did have a minor Achilles problem). Howes would be more likely to get a run if there was an injury or a reason to rest Langdon, Hunter or maybe Brayshaw at a stretch.

I’d hold back Kozzie for two more weeks. We play in WA and SA in the next two weeks and the respective cosmopolitan areas such as Burswood Casino and Rundle Mall might prove too much of a lure for him to stay. I’d drop Van Rooyen and Ben Brown for the same reasons.

Brayshaw out because Kye Turner played well in the VFL 2 weeks ago and Rising Star Rivers has his role covered. Steven May need to go out as Jed Adams can take on Jack Darling.

Out: May, Van Rooyen, Petracca, Lever, Brayshaw, ANB, Fritsch, Judd, McVee, Brown

In: Dunstan, Schache, Tomlinson, Adams, Farris-Bueller, Salem, Sextent, Disco, Kye Turner, Harmes

I was there, it was Mothers Day too. Surprised 13k even showed up, truly a dark dark dark time
Yeah it was actually physically dark due to overcastness to match the onfield vibe too

It's an interesting call but we are playing a wafl team. The only thing is I would say it goes against what Goodwin said about gifting games.
Wouldn’t be a gift though, he was awesome on the weekend.

Whoever goes out would be stiff though

Yeah. You'd expect only forced changes after a 50 point win against last year's runner-up.

Pickett in as a :padlock:best-22, other changes only through injury (including soreness/management for the old campaigners)

Sample size of 1, but Petty absolutely launched at the one centre bounce he had as a ruck. He's nearing 2metres (2 metre Harry?) and could definitely pinch hit in there.

I love the flexibility we have with Petty as the swingman.

Could be a real ace up the sleeve in big games swinging him forward. Reminds me of the great WCE team that had Hunter as their swingman who would go forward and kick goals at critical points.

The other interesting factor that media isn’t talking about is that both clubs have had curses in their respective histories. We had the Norm Smith Curse but nobody is talking about the Birds Of Tokyo Hex with the Eagles. Since the reworked version of legendary minstrel Mike Brady’s Eagles theme song in 2020, THE WEST COAST EAGLES haven’t won a final. 👀

This looks like it's straight out out of TK's lab lol
**** I'm a nerd for this shit I love it. Way too much ' they brought the heat, run and gun' moron talk by people like David King. That's a tangible stat that shows what we actually do different to other sides. **** all of that in the media

If we continue to hold width like that we should have more room to move the ball through the corridor because the grounds wider for us. Makes me think someone like Jordan might actually have a place as a straight up defensive mid who positions himself centre back on the transition to help stopping it come back

I certainly wouldn't call him a spud, and not sure I want to nominate him for a Kingsley, but I'm going with Jayden Hunt 20 and 3 on Sunday.

  • Completely ruled out Gawn for the next month
  • Brown won't play if he trains any less than 100% today
  • Talked up McDonald's game in the VFL (ugh)
  • Wants to give Petty more time up forward, but he'll also be required to play back at times
  • Loved Jordon's game
  • Pickett obviously in, but they still haven't decided who for
  • Likes the idea of a mid-season trade period
