So I've just found this thread after deciding to go pro....
Just deposited 15k into 3 books (Sportsbet, TAB and Topsport)

150 unit starting bankroll betting $100 units

Im only 29 and have been thinking about doing this for a while. I'm single, unmarried and live alone in a unit so don't have many expenses. I've quit my job last week and have 10k in my saving account incase things go south. I work in the trade industry as a painter and it's piss easy to.find work so.if this fails I'll be able to get another job no issue.

Wish me luck

Great bankroll size. Look thick. Solid. Tight. Keep us all posted on your continued bankroll progress with any new progress pics or vid clips. Show us what you got man. Wanna see how freakin' huge, solid, thick and tight your bankroll can get. Thanks for the motivation.

Good luck, it will be a challenge but at least you have a fallback

You are up against corps with masses of FT analysts with huge data bases and algos. They have more information, more resources, more money than every pro except the big syndicates. On top of this you need to beat them by 20% just to break even.

To have any hope you'll need to know your specific edge that they have not identified, and how much you expect it to make you based on your testing and related variance over the last few yrs.

It would also be worth opening a BF account as if you start winning consistently with the 3 corps mentioned you will be quickly limited to MBLs only.

This made me actually laugh out loud hahah that's gold.

I've got accounts with roughly 40-50 books so if that happens will move to others.
Seems so ****ed up that they can limit winning punters
I also for some reason have a betfair account but can't log into it I should probably check that out

Also I know people talk about edge and all this but in my overly simple head I'm thinking that if I just return more units then I bet then I will be fine. I've been doing this for a test run betting wed fri and sat for about 6 months now and have made quite a decent profit in terms of units without actually using money (just to see if I could do it)

Obviously when money is involved things change I know that but I am exceptionally level headed when it comes to dealing with winners and losers. My mates always say you can not tell if I've had a huge win or huge loss my demeanour doesn't change.

Will report back on how things are going

Seriously though good luck with your plans.

I like to think there are people out there who can beat the bookies at their own game.

I'm only a small time punter, I punt for fun, but I finished in the black in '21 and '22 and I'm hoping to make it three in a row this year.

Just need the AFL to return. I suck at soccer punting. And tennis for that matter.

Good luck to you too but your attention to detail is not inspiring confidence!

The problem is a lot of these are the same one with a different interface isnt it? If you get excluded/limited from 1 you'll probably find yourself hit by 3 or 4.

Yea quite a few are the betmakers and generationweb skins and then That leaves around 20 or so who aren't. Not sure if all the generation web mobs and betmakers share info

I've got accounts with

Generationweb

midasbet, actionbet, punterspal, jimmybet, winnersbet, betbetbet, Webet, bethunter, boombet, goldbet, ultrabet.

Betmakers

Marantellibet, crossbet, betnation, punt123, rambet, , baggybet, readybet, wishbet, winbet, mintbet, swiftbet, foxcatcher, upcoz

I know goldbet and ultrabet are the same people aswell as punterspal and bethunter are the same people. Not sure if they all share info being many separate companies. Same with the betmakers skins they're all seperate companies using the same software so if anyone has any info on that would be good to hear it.

As someone who has done something similar, one bit of advice is to not stop working completely if you can.

Knowing you have some money coming in will reduce the pressure when you do go through a bad run.

And being a pro punter requires a lot of patience, and if you are getting bored it can lead to bad decisions.

what do you need to cover your weekly nut?

i think you are massively under-rolled - and would probably stick to promo-hunting, multi-accounting the 40-50 books you have access to develop your $15k roll while working your trade monday, tuesday, thursday, friday & having tiny bets on your actual picks to see whether you can legitimately win.

get your betfair account unlocked - you can't bet seriously with out it.

that said i will follow regardless - good luck.

Agree about the bankroll. I’d say work out what is the amount you are looking to make each year, and what PoT you genuinely think you can achieve. That number is usually smaller than what people think. That will give you a rough average of what turnover a day/week/year you will need to make the amount you want. Of course there will be days where you don’t find a bet, and others where you find 10. But take into account variance and things can get tough pretty quick.

Also if you want to try and have set days off, you really should find time to still do the form for those meetings. Margins are too tight to potentially miss good bets, wherever your edge is.

Like everyone else has said though, good luck with it and I hope it works out.
