because they gave an undertaking to the AFL that they would ensure things were right, and then they go and lie to the whole public about a drug test.
that aint putting everything right, it is treating the AFL and the public with contempt.
the whole organisation is morally bankrupt and should be forced to hand over to an AFL instituted administration until such a time a new admin can be put together.

Of course i would, under suspicous circumstances I owuld want my namem to be cleared so they could then let me greive and rule myself out from futher speculation, WHO WOULDN"T, i would hate it if i didn't and they kept hounding me wherever i went just becasue i didn't take a simple test to prove i wasn't involved, unless of ocurse he had something to hide
Like a car crash, if my mate died while i was driving and i am not drunk or on drugs that's the first thing i would do, not just because of me but also because of HIS FAMILY, don't they deserve to know that you were clean and not at fault based on drugs/alcohol.
It was selfish, arrogant and just plain wrong. If i were he's family i wouldn't even have allowed him to the funeral.

Why wouldn't the club want - scratch that, NEED to know? Surely if the guy is on a "zero tolerance" contract and was the last person to see a guy who OD'd, you'd be pretty keen to know for sure that a drug test had been taken, and the results were negative?

Perhaps we all misheard the original quote and it was actually "Cousins was subsequently tested and the Eagles yesterday said the results were impressive".

Just a little point that. ben has to admit he has a problem, otherwise he aint gunna get better.
He needs to understand the consequences of his actions.
if he has gotten away with all his bad deeds before, he doesn't understand he wont now. No favours done to him in the past by the others.
They are now reaping what they have sowed. Not just Ben but the club and family.

what sh its me is that they say ben is a role model, who said he was a role model? i am preety sure ben hasnt got up and said i am a role model to society and young children.. The media have got a lot to answer for they are the ones that make these people role models and comment on their habits. i think that if half of them were tested they would most likely be on some kind of sh it. Although drugs are illegal and i dont condone them each to there own i say, it is no different to an alcoholic who has adrinking problem he has abuse issue as well. Ben has a substance abuse issue that should be kept private so he can recover fully and regain his health and one day perhaps get back to playing football, society has a substance abuse problem why should he take the blame for everyones habits, i feel he is being used as scape goat for the media who make these people what they are. He is just an ordinary man with talents that have made him one of footballs all time greats, and the media need to take some responsibility for not leaving these people alone and let them have a private life....

Maybe just maybe he was taking drugs with mainwaring during that day and then Mainwaring dies ..... does Cousins have a responsibility in all this ...... Then at Mainwarings funeral he carries the coffin and is part of the family ....then the next you see him off his head and a stupid smirk all over his face....wonder what mainwarings wife thinks of him. ... I know what i think

If he was doing drugs on the day Mainwearing died with him and he has not got it through his head now he never will.
