How does an Essendon supporter know what we want better then our own club?

I made that joined logo a while ago for this on the footy jumpers board.

Here it is royboy described it.

Wow what a great looking jumper. The new FFC/BB design logo on the back looks awesome. If it hasnt already been done so can someone please email this jumper to the club.

I am a genuine jumper lover and take a keen interest in all clubs designs sponsor changes and etc etc.

Now whilst i dont often post on BF, im not here to troll.

but my question is to those contributors in this thread, with the change of apparel spnsor, why all of a sudden do you think they will change back to the former lion or a similar lion. ive read through the thread, and unless ive skipped past a part, its all just fantasy wishing that you get the old lion moinker back.

SO, why would it happen?

Understandably not being a Lions supporter im not as attatched to it as others may be. however i didnt see there being a problem with the change of jumper this year and i for one liked it. I get where people come frtom throwing up the tradition argument and heritage and history.

But heck, we dont want 16-17-18 Collingwoods in the league now do we. That being not embracing some change

I doubt the jumper will change for 2011, as I believe the current jumper is locked in for two years.

However due to the legal settlement with the Fitzroy Football Club, the Brisbane Lions MUST use the Fitzroy lion logo on:

• Club stationery: letterhead, with compliments slips, business cards, fax headers, electronic correspondence etc for the next 14 years.
• Club publications: Season Guide, Season Review and Lions Tale magazines, Club Annual Reports and electronic Lions Online newsletters for the next 14 years.
• Membership and corporate sales marketing material for the next 14 years.
• the masthead at the top of the page of the official Brisbane Lions’ website (currently www.lions.com.au) will also prominently include the Fitzroy lion logo for a period of seven years.

This means that the Lions for the next 14 years, if they persist with the current logo, will use two lion logos as part of their branding. Whether they will want to continue to dilute their brand for that amount of time is yet to be determined. If they don't, then we may well see a return to the old jumper.

Well good for you. I loathed it and continue to loath it. The Lions won't see one cent of my money in merchandise sales while they continue to sport the paddlepop lion. Even my Lions membership (once automatic) is now a year to year proposition. We'll see what this year's AGM throws up.

they've just taken the puma one and changed the logo on it. Not the actual kooga tops

although anyone wishing for a change to the lion is obviously going to be dissapointed. (including me)

Are you sure? The BOQ and Conergy logos are also different to this year's ones.

I think that picture is the actual new KooGa gear.

actually you could be right, superimposed it over the top. thought the collar looked like the puma one but its not, similiar but not the same. the Puma collar yellow came down past the line of the top of the blue, that one doesn't.

Still doesn't look quite like the collar on the dogs one from last year though.

Anyway, im not buying anything with that paddle pop lion on it to be honest.
To me it does not respresent this great club of ours.

won't be buying a guernsey, hope they have some decent supporter gear though as i'll be looking to pick up a little this year, my polos are wearing out.

i can stand the lions head on supporter gear, not on the guernsey

Looks like the lion is now a bit further down. Doesn't look like im buying a 2011 guernsey its a shame because the last on i bought was 2009.
