Went so far as to call him an idiot. Gerard shut him up though when he mentioned that Dunstall, Lynch and Mcluire all said it was 100% fine and he should get off.

Yeah he had no response to that, just.. "aw they all played in a different era"

He's exactly right though. A Lynch Dunstall and co all played in a period that was encouraged. Its just not that way anymore. How would you feel to watch Jonathon Brown cannon into Darling like that?

I'd be fine with that, shit happens. I wasn't like he was deliberately at him, genuine contested ball.

Someone with skills and time should edit a montage video of a few examples of the exact same type of contact this year in marking contests that hasn't been reviewed by MRP or even been a free kick with player going back getting cleaned up, then contrast it with Lynch's one and the MRP decision.

Guys woosha announced that we will be challenging it, defence is that if the player wasnt their lynch would of marked it

Woosha just said on 6PR they are going to challenge on the basis he was going for the mark and would have marked it if the North player wasn't there. Also that in that split second decision he had no choice but to go for the mark.

Lynch was a fraction late, I don't think it was deserving of a suspension but you never know what the MRP are going to come up with.

I wish Robbo wasn't on AFL 360. Surely they could get someone who speaks more intelligently and doesn't get upset/angry/outraged at the drop of a hat. On the Couch handled the conversation about the Lynch decision by the MRP so much better. Healy thinks Lynch deserves to be suspended but at least went through it rationally.

Edit: Good to see we're challenging it.

So Tarrant gets off even though he threw punches and drove Buddy's head in the ground but Lynch gets a week for trying to take a mark.

From the AFL website and the genius Mark Fraser.

"It does have the potential in the worst case scenario that you break somebody's back. It was a very forceful hit and we believe that's a charge."

THIS IS AFTER THEY'VE CHARGED HIM WITH LOW IMPACT. What are those monkeys doing down there?

Fraser's comments aren't going to help with the challenge. After all the AFL hate to admit that they're wrong or go against what one of their own have said.
His comments are leading, it's going to make it difficult. They have to show the similar contest where he took the mark, and other incidents like this that have gone through without any sanctions.

MATCH Review Panel chairman Mark Fraser has criticised Quentin Lynch for his hit on Scott McMahon, saying the Eagle forward could have broken McMahon's back by jumping into him at a marking contest.

Lynch has been offered a one-week suspension for charging McMahon in West Coast's win on Sunday afternoon.

Fraser said Lynch had been reckless in his contact with the North Melbourne defender.

"We believe that's breaching a duty of care as a player. If you go into a contest knees first like that, even though there is an attempt to hit the ball over there. We think that's worthy of charging," Fraser told AFL.com.au.

What a joke players drive their knees into the backs and heads of players every week so should we outlaw the high mark. The match review panel is a joke.

I've been sitting here angry about this whole situation and the point you've raised, yet i cant seem to be serious anymore after the fits of laughter that erupted after seing one of the scott doppelgangers having a whinge. (funnily enough im not even sure it was his biggest tanty from the game let alone over the course of the year)

They showed Merret's against Riewoldt earlier in the year that was thrown out IIRC. Was well late/short of contest took his eyes off the ball and cannoned into Riewoldt's back. Got off. Was worse than Lynch's but still argued he had to be quicker than the blink of an eye not to crash into Riewoldt. They got it down to negligent and got him a reprimand, but you watch the incident and he takes his eyes off the ball and is later to the contest than Lynch.

Hang on.... The ball was kicked to Lynch by a team mate but because the ball dropped a little short and a Roos player cut in front from the side, Lynch has to just stand there like a rock ape? Fair crack of the whip MRP....

Was this on 360 they showed it? I'll grab that too and chuck it in

And a knee to the back of the head is harmless...interesting.
