Well that certainly worked to get all the Griffith-Moorooka players posting here !! Nice job Axel !!

Im not a GM player, although have been associated with the club for a number of years, and its absolutely ludacris that someone can suggest that any of the boys were deliberately trying to injure players, i was there on the weekend and it was just a physical game of footy

I'm not a GM player, don't like the rooster snivelers personally, never real have but never known them to be dirty, and as for accusing a coach of encouraging injuring opponents based on a RUMOR, that deserves an uppercut to the brow, that just shit form

Theres a big difference between telling the players when a certain player gets to ball make them earn their kicks and deliberately injuring the player
Making someone earn a kick with a fair hard bump or tackle is cool but i can assure you there was plenty of leading with elbows and little sly punches when the eagles were on the ground especially in the last part of the third quarter and the last quarter, Moorooka are defiantly a clean team when they are winning totally different story when they are losing tho

So, if Moorooka are in front during a match, they play clean footy, albeit defiantly, but if they are behind on the scoreboard, they are dirty thugs ??

So basically what you are saying is that Griffith-Moorooka, whether winning or losing, are a dirty team ???

Gets a bit rough want to tape every game l

Hoopers probly back for free alcohol and cash flow. Didnt realize we play netball now too better video just in case they bump too hard girls dick.
Free alcohol and cash flow? i don't personally know Rhan Hooper but i do know of some one that works with him and he defiantly dosnt need to coach for free alcohol or extra cash as he has a good earning job where from what i hear he earns quite a nice little packet but does work in excess of 60 hrs a week, i would think that he has come to coach the eagles to try and help them win a premiership after all this was the club he was drafted from when he was younger.

I too have heard the rumours about moorooka targeting certain players to hurt them and injure them and that was pretty blatant on saturday as well with the high shots they were dishing out and the yellow cards they received

Hey all,

First post here: went on and watched the GM vs Ipswich match and lucky ducky I must disagree with you.
It was a physical game as mentioned above and yes some players may have been frustrated and knew the game was over so they assert a bit more physicality into the game but thats like any team. To claim it was under instruction is a massive call. There is a difference in bumping/tackling to hurt than to injure mate.

Will Rhan Hooper be playing a lot this year? If so what position if anyone knows.

Wow, must have been a big crowd out there on Saturday. So many headed out to watch the game, but we are still yet to have 1 single player post in here on their opinion of the match. And 58 pages already into this thread and we are still weeks away before the season starts. I think Foxtel are covering the wrong division !!!

mmmmm randall i was there saturday and i suspect that the eagles will win a lot more than they lose and will be right in the mix at the business end of the year, and for you to say that moorooka was under strength whats to say that the eagles had their full list playing? cause i can assure you that they defiantly didn't. Also i think if any body on here seen the game they would also say that moorooka got away with a fair bit once they started losing or more like relised they weren't going to win they tried to go the biff quite a few head high shots especially on the eagles number 1 rover who is possibly the best rover in the comp unlucky not to win the b&f last year and then also trying to snipe hooper as well number 11 for moorooka is probably the dirtiest player in the comp, Hooper and brick and the eagles new ruckman will dominate this year. id suspect the eagles will be just trying to improve on last year as they have been pretty quite over pre-season and not making any bold predictions like other teams, Ive been told that hooper has signed for 3 years so he would be in the early stages of rebuilding the ipswich club, so this year would be improving and adding a few new players, blooding a few young players as well and most likely aim for the premiership next season with a few more new players but in saying that anything is possible this year, Moorooka maybe the favourites but there are quite a few teams that will be quite capable of knocking them off on their day including the eagles
Hooper signed for 3 years, has he ever stayed at a club that long before without going walkabout?

Hooper will play wherever he wants and will do whatever he wants because he can

The truth is it is pre season with new teams so we will not know until the early rounds who the contenders are all though it is nice to speculate. Facts are if Hooper, Barling and Brick can stay on the park for Ipswich they will be a factor. They improved last season and have added some quality this year. However Bond and Wynum are unkown and Redecliffe P Rivers are also very good sides so looks like it will be a very good season...And for the record I beleive Hooper has gone to Ipswich because he wants to coach simple as that and most of the coaches in the comp get paid so yes I would say that is happening.....

Anyone surprised by this result shouldn't be.

Hooper will be outstanding at this level and given he is actually now in his home town, won't be going walkabout anytime soon.

Excellent work by the club to get him back down there. Along with a few other recruits they have, they will be a superb side and I would imagine they would be strong flag contenders along with GM.

The Pine Rivers game wasn't surprising, the QAFA B North comp is dreadful, Bribie were never going to be competitive.

I watched a fair bit of the roosters last years, Yes when the game isn't going their way they tend lose that controlled aggression which makes them a good side, and on one occasion saw a player punch the redcliffe ranga captain in the face when he was trying to shake his hand after the game.. causing a little thing the AFL like to call a "Melee" which google translate to be "a confused fight or scuffle" which sours a game really. but a big No to the coach sending hits out on players. after said event above at redcliffe he called his blokes a bunch of "losers" and also instructed they form a guard of honor for the two redcliffe players who played there milestones that day. also they stuck around for a cheeky beer in redcliffes fine club house... the tents next to the field

Went to the ipswich/GM game - hooper was very good as expected and should take them further into finals this year.

Do we know anymore about the newer clubs coming in? Bond/ Vic point ?

Vic point from what i can understand have a lot of older heads? may be competitive ?

Bond is just an unknown and will have to wait and see what they bring out, from all reports just a squad of uni kids ?

Hi Un ,
I also was at that game and never herd the coach call any play a looser , and thought It was a nice touch that the Griffith boys showed respect to the to guys celebrating there milestone games .
Not sure what your getting at mate ,

Competitive ??? They couldn't even muster one solitary behind. Don't think they would have had much luck working on set-up and structures !!!
I thought it would be a 20 goal smashing, so the margin surprised a little bit - but not much.

Bribie wouldn't have been Top 6 in QAFA B Central, so taking on the runners up in the QAFA A comp, who have arguably strengthened their lineup was always going to be a hiding.

I know trial games are notoriously inaccurate indicators for how a club might go in the season but in saying that Vicy Point looked very old and very unfit in the main. A few good players but looked like quite a few making up the numbers. On last Saturdays form will be competitive in the first quarter of the match. Also did not look they had a lot of numbers on the sideline, so will be interesting to see how they are traveling about half-way into the season, especially if some injuries kick in.
Wynnum playing Beenleigh this weekend ay=t Kedron of all places.

Bond seem to be a young team good skills well coached. Coomera had about 4-6 seniors, 5 under 18's the rest reserves and new players to the club.Though only watched last halve Coomera will need a big improvement to be competitive. Bond should be about mid table

It will be interesting to see if Griffith attempt the same thing against Coorparoo this week end. I would suggest Coorparoo would not take a backwards step or allow this to happen ........ even in a praccy match

Just heard some big news which i thought may interest you guys

A.templar wont play this year, badly broken leg from what ive been told, wanted to be the first to tell you all
