I thought he took a development job at an AFL club?

Carlton rings a bell.

If Owens is back at Palmy, then they will be a big threat. Seriously good coach, good person, good recruiter and knows how to spot and develop talent.

Will he go back to PBC High as well?

He went to Coburg first where he was given the arse the same at Carlton.
Anyone can recruit when given an open cheque book

Lol. Not a fan obviously. How do you know he was given the arse?

Open cheque book not quite right. 2/3rds of players from that period of grand finals and flags were homegrown juniors

Bit of chicken salt with your chips.

Palmy under Owens were a completely different beast. Respected by opposition, good culture, great player development right from youth up to their seniors and the club still benefits from his previous involvement.

Think you might be confusing him with Cresswell.

The big recruits I can remember when he was at palmy were burgey and who was the ex afl player
Jack Anthony to name one

It’s pretty well known he was moved on from Coburg & Carlton.

Yes there was a lot of homegrown players in those flags but topped up with some very well payed recruits on overs

think getting moved on from Carlton is one thing, but being recognised as good enough to get a start in AFL land when he hasn't played at the elite level probably says more about him than being moved on later.
