Just win it.

Start well and take the chances when the present themselves.

Play our game and be as hard as we've been all year. Dont wait - go and go often

No big speeches - no big wind up.

Just do it.

Win this, get the week off and let the other beat the snot out of themselves.

They are worthy opponents and will come hard and keep doing it until she sings at the end.

We've had a plan all year and we have plenty with Finals experience.

Do what you do and go you good things.

Time to show we are Geelong... the greatest team of all.

Go Catters

This year has brought me hope... again.

Really just hoping this team can throw off the shackles of years past and really achieve what they deserve. There are so many fascinating 'what if?' situations...

What if the youngsters can come out and play well under the heat?

What if WE actually start fast in a qualifying final for once and go in at quarter time 5 goals up instead of 5 goals down?

What if WE get a good run at it for once without injuries?

What if the older brigade turn back the clock? Danger, Sel, Smith, Duncan - would be amazing to see these guys play some of their best footy.

What if the new gameplan actually stands up in finals for once, instead of wilting and decomposing before our eyes?

I dunno, I can't really say I'm completely confident - our track record stands for itself. But I'm certainly not going to denounce the boys before they've done anything wrong. I believe in this team and think we're as good a shot as any this season. You don't finish top of the ladder for nothing.

This game will set the stage - JUST BLOODY WIN THE DAMN THING.

I'm unable to sleep on the overnight coach to Melbourne and really hoping that I'm not doing this to myself for the sake of witnessing another vintage Chris Scott final. Let's see something new.

I remember back in 2011, my boss was an old Collingwood bogan, for some reason I was supremely confident that we’d win the grand final by six goals and “going away with it”. She was unnerved by that confidence.

I still don’t understand what gave me that confidence, but this year I feel the same, maybe it’s the added pace of Stengle and Close, maybe it’s having a fit and firing Jezza, maybe it’s the sure hands of SDK down back being an improved version of Tommy Lonergan.

But I think the most important thing is the team plays as a team these days, individual brilliance isn’t required, that’s why we will win as we are the best team in the comp.

Collingwood will fight, scrap, gnaw and chew their way to make it a close contest, what we need to be supremely confident of is our talent is far greater and we have no glaring weaknesses. Any team that can have a Rohan and Miers as bit part players, and not guys you are expecting to get 2-5 goals out of each week is a balanced unit.

Go well boys, to those at the ground scream and cheer loud, to those at home shut out the negatives and help bring our boys home.

To the boys on the field, we’re proud of what you’ve achieved so far, it’s time to put all that hard work and persistence on the ground and get us into the preliminary!

Not confident. Gut feeling says pies by under a goal.

Me too. That said, there’s an argument that it’s preferable to play four finals rather than another week off. Since 2017, at least one GF team each year has played four finals either by losing the QF or coming from the bottom half of the 8.

Guess we will just have to beat Collingwood, Freo or the Bulldogs in the grand final then

I did think this before last night. But I thought Melbourne would win and even if we lose today we wouldn’t have had to travel.
But now with Sydney winning, I wouldn’t be confident playing them in a prelim in Sydney.

In fact I wouldn’t be confident about playing Sydney at the G either. They look bloody good.

Hopefully we win today and prove me wrong like they have all year.

Win and avoid an SCG trip and stay in melb. Must win.

No way we need to get this done today or see an all to familiar story unfold Sydney up there in the prelim would be the rock we perish on.

Good stuff Daz, lump in the throat to start my Saturday

Today will tell us everything we need to know regarding our chances for the Flag.
Bring our best and do what we should, which would be the most 1 sided final, and our chances for a Flag are high.
Do what we've done over recent seasons, bring sub par performance or allow ourselves to be jumped early, not take our chances and wilt under pressure, then we are done.
Huge.
