2s team getting around with 10 permit players this week. Not against it, as many people as possible playing games of footy is the best outcome here. But surely there is some amount of permit players that has to be counted as a forfeit?

I know about that number played with Gympie 2's this weekend - all from Nth Shore who had a bye

10 players that come from where? Multiple clubs I assume but forfeits only happen without the permits

Didn't want to single out,

I thought the permit system had changed this year?

Seemingly matchday permit to a team short on players for 1 game is still kosher? I got the idea it wasn't, happy to be wrong

Maybe instead of looking for the negatives maybe a thanks to North Shore for helping out and to Gympie to make sure they had 22 so the players they had and Alex got a game! This is what community football is all about helping out! We all know Gympie are fighters and they will ensure games go ahead it may just depend on which club could potentially help them out. There are plenty of other clubs that have to travel up and reach out for loan players.

Having 10 plus permit players is not a good thing haha, if you can’t have your own two teams go play Friday night footy and have 1 team I’d understand if it was only once or twice but every week , at some stage they won’t have those 10 players then what, forfeit ? Then the home teams are losing money and don’t get a game

I agree its great of other clubs pitching in and assisting Gympie week in, week out to ensure games go ahead.

My question is, how come historically other clubs have had to play in the Fri night comp when they are unable to field 2 sides?

Because other clubs have fallen on their swords and gone and rebuilt.

Others haven’t had the level of help from others.

You have to hand it to them they scrap and fight but it seems inevitable the forfeits will come and then they will be relegated
