Maybe instead of looking for the negatives maybe a thanks to North Shore for helping out and to Gympie to make sure they had 22 so the players they had and Alex got a game! This is what community football is all about helping out! We all know Gympie are fighters and they will ensure games go ahead it may just depend on which club could potentially help them out. There are plenty of other clubs that have to travel up and reach out for loan players.
Spot on - there isn't just the one club up this way short on players either. Nth Shore have had a glut this year with over 40 blokes on their list I think. At least their guys get a game too if they have paid their rego.

Because other clubs have fallen on their swords and gone and rebuilt.

Others haven’t had the level of help from others.

You have to hand it to them they scrap and fight but it seems inevitable the forfeits will come and then they will be relegated
thats exactly right - for whatever reason the powers at Gympie prefer to play Saturday footy and battle through week to week. Not my idea of fun tbh but good on them for resilience. maybe they feel that if they went to Friday night then they wouldn't have enough guys commit to even fill one side?

Then play Wide Bay. They won a flag there only a few years ago. Had plenty of players then

It's further to travel to play wide bay and I believe they won the flag the year they merged with Pomona. Looking at their list I can't see too many from that flag year still at the club so naturally you struggle for wins when premiership players move on and then it's a case of no one wanting to play for a losing side. They'll be fine for the year (hopefully) other clubs that can will happily help when required, but in saying that they need to look at the Friday night comp and not wide bay.

Can’t see HQ putting them in Fri. Clubs wouldn’t be getting home til 2am.

Unless they make a further travesty of Fri night football and let them play all their games on a Saturday like roos and jets.

Interesting results today. Was Hinterland Ipswich score correct? Saw Hinterland/Kedron last week, not a flowing game. Then Redcliffe towelled Kedron up today. Gympie a 'brave' loss?

Blues scores are correct. Was a mud heap. On a clear day it would have been another 10 goals minimum.

Interesting Redcliffe and Kedron scores. Kedron played very well last week.
that's a shame for the comp Doc, irrespective that your mob ended up on the right side of that score. Don't think any player enjoys that sort of domination.

Does he get the 100 this year?
You would think so. The bottom 3 seem like they are a long way from the top of the pack, therefore you would think he will kick some big bags against each of them which will help his cause. But the reality is him kicking 100 is worth nothing if they can't win the flag, and he really struggled on GF day last year to have an offensive impact against good opposition in a high pressure game, where he didn't get his own way. Seemingly, his opponent won that battle comfortably.

not that good, decent Div 1 player, probably fringe senior and good ressies player in QAFL.

how is this attitude seeping into community footy, honestly. this isn't the pro leagues where tens of millions of dollars are spent on the one objective; if he kicks 100, has a great time doing so and then loses the GF, that's not "nothing"

Especially as a small forward/mid
