QFA Div 2 North

All due respect to Fabian, who is now pretty old.

Overington and Lovett the only blokes on that list who would get a senior game in the QAFL (other than at Mt Gravatt)

Don't want to go down this rabbit hole though, was more just suggesting that the Colts comp is very strong, especially now its exclusively QAFL
I wasn't saying they would play qafl just that a young colts lad would struggle big time on those blokes even in div 2.

Simple fix

If you recruit them out of QAFL Colts while they are still eligible to play Colts, then make them 3 pointers

If you recruit them when they age out of Colts, make them 2.
not many players if any are going to leave a qafl club (colts) to go play div 2...

So if a 'rep side QAFL Colts' team played a 'rep side Men's Division 2 team'.... who wins?
id be leaning with div 2. only because of the experience in some of the men. That said, we have all seen u17s players match it against some of the best div 2 players. So colts players could easily get up.

So maybe Colts player points should reduce from 3 to 2?
I think so, there are lads that moved from Div 2/3 youth sides to QAFL Colts sides to continue playing 'under age' competitions. Surely after a year of Colts footy they shouldn't carry 3 points. If they returned to their original club they would be 1 pointers?

yeah, guess it disincentivises an 18 year old kid going from Kedron to Grange to play Colts, and then going to Redcliffe to play Seniors instead of Kedron (just as an example).

Regardless of whether or not they played 40 games, they are 1 point returning to Kedron - they are 3 if they go to Redcliffe - which I suppose is fair enough?

Its the ones that might come from junior clubs that have no senior team, or no Saturday senior team that could get caught out by this.

I don’t think many top end Colts players head to QFA at age 19. My thoughts are more with the 100 game junior at QAFL club who follows his mates from U17s (perhaps their 2nd team) to Colts, plays when his team mates are called up to Ressies, Seniors or Academy. I don’t think that lad will rip apart Div 2 but could be a handy player with time and dedication. I don’t think those guys are 3 points.

So anyone brave enough to make some predictions
Alex will be back up there you would think,
Redcliffe have added more stock to their squad and one would think they will be a contender too.
word is kedron have picked up a few good players too.

ill be going with Redcliffe after 2 prelim exits in a row i think they will make and take out the GF.
