Finally...we're here.

I don't go in overly confident of a win, but I think we can win this game. If we can be as close as we were the last time we played them, tehn it may be a different result. All the pressure is on them, who knows how they'll handle it.

Now I dont mean to troll,
Just wanna say goodluck this week, I am a crows supporter, and you will have all the Crow supporters swinging Geelong scarfs around, i assure you

Good Luck _ Go the Cats

We ended up getting a pretty good draw.

Playing interstate is a worry but AAMI will be a walk in the park compared to the GABBA. I also think we can win but we need Graham and Kingsley to turn up with their kicking boots on and King to play a hell of a lot better than he did against the crows a couple of weeks back.

If I had to put money on the game I would back Port but we should give a good show.

Goodluck to the Cats for this weekend.

I was in Geelong last weekend for the National Basketball Finals and i must say that you have a fantastic town with Fantastic People.

Living in Adelaide although i wont be at the match you can rest assured that I will be cheering loudly for the Cats against the Port Pretenders.

Goddam the timing of this match. Was hoping it would be on Saturday arvo as after this time, I'll be be incommunicado for a week (holiday in the South of France if you must know;)). Will have to try to avoid finding out the result and watching it next weekend. Will be very difficult though. Don't know that I have the will-power.

i am soooo excited about this match!...yes it does seem like a difficult task but i believe the boys can do it, of course everyone who i've spoken to has tipped port 100% but i really dont think it's going to be that easy, we are not just going to throw this match away it is extremely important to the boys and all of their fans. I really think it will be alot closer than expected aswell, all as they need to do is play the great footy we all know they can play and we will be right! CUMON U MIGHTY CATTERZ:D

All finals are tough, but our young crew need this to toughen up for the upcoming weeks

We need to organise our forward line a bit better than last weekend.

How many changes where there in the forwad line in the second half, last weekend.

They only move players around when they are not happy with their performance, we need some stability IMO.

Good luck guys

Hope Koulouriotis(hope i spelt that right so berni doesnt eat me alive) will play, and maybe show Choco what Port missed out on.

cheers. :)

What does everyone think the changes to the side will be this week??
Will Enright and Woja come back and who will be dropped for Bartel?
Will Chambers come in to back King up in the ruck against the duo of Lade and Brogan?
Will the big H play or will the weather determine his spot in the side?
Will Hunt be full of confidence or will his AAMI stadium hoodoo come back to haunt him??

A very difficult task at the selection table this week.

In : Bartel & Wojcinski [if fit]
Out : Haynes & DJ [stay in if Wojcinski unfit]

H or Mooney can be 2nd ruck,so no need for Unco.

Have a forward line of
HF : S Johnson Graham Kingsley
F : Ablett Mooney Chapman

All year we've played the two key forwards with a third marking option, be it Charlie or Dessy.

I can't see why we'd suddenly abandon the structure.

I agree, if it were me picking the side id go...
IN: Bartel, Gardiner
OUT: Spriggs, Haynes

I'd keep Haynes, but if we decide to drop Haynes, Gardiner simply has to be his replacement.

So you prefer Haynes to Gardiner? Reasons?

Haynes kicks more goals and takes far more contested marks.

I quite like Charlie's game, but i believe we need someone who can take a contested mark, and statistics prove that Haynes is one of the better contested marks at our club whereas Charlie doesn't take many at all.

Haynes is still making a lot of mistakes, but given the aim of his position, i believe he is more suited to the role than Charlie at this stage.

To be honest, i think Haynes' confidence is too badly shot to be relying on him in a finals game.

I'd much rather see Charlie come in for him.

Your take on Charlie's confidence?

I've always thought a lack of confidence was one of the two reasons Charlie wasn't playing to his potential. Don't think being dropped last week would have improved his self belief either.

I dont think that Port see this as an easy game, I can only hope that Port have leanrt from their past efforts & come out & show the respect that Geelong deserve. Geelong are a Quality side & if Port aren switched on I am afraid that you guys will win. I hope not & I hope we come out & smash into you guys.

If Port do not make it to the Grand Final I will be hoping that Geelong does.

Carn the POWER :D

Comparatively, Charlie thinks he is Wayne Carey.

You can just see it in their faces.

Charlie got dropped a week ago, and has never been known to be a confident bloke.

If you are selecting a tall option based on confidence, neither play will get picked.

Always unlucky players when it comes to finals selection. i would think Haynes will stay in.
My selections:
IN:Bartel ,Wojinsci
OUT:Spriggs , D.Johnson.
D.J being very unlucky

My changes would be;
In: Byrnes, Bartel
Out: Spriggs, Rooke
It's finals time, and for the first time since 2000, we're in it. We need to relax,
even if we lose to Port there's still a double chance. I think we can beat Port, but we'll have to play with the consistency that we've shown in Victoria.

Looked at the stats at http://afl.has.it and was surprised that Haynes has been performing better than him easily statistically. However it is Haynes bad kicking & amateur mistakes that have me cringing. Note: Always playing on after a mark & being tackled & kicking into the man on the mark from a set shot.

Yeah, no doubt he has issues in those areas.

Charlie is more consistent, but Dessy's best is better. Depends which the club wants more this week.
