This is the first of the now to be 3 prelims we have qualified for that we haven’t gone via a semi. Reflects the improvement this year.

2020 prelim was straight from Quali too.
We couldn't handle Geelong that time, it was rated our best chance since all finals were at Gabba.

I agree. Poor girl would already be suffering from unnecessary embarrassment. The multiple articles pointing out her small mistake is just bullying.

Was great to see hundreds of comments supporting her underneath.

Fair enough, media is going to critique professionals playing the game, that’s fair game, but this is just miserable.

Yeah agree poor girl was nervous. We noticed she was going a little too fast and the crowd all sorted it out in the last but these articles are gutter journalism.

i've always said he's brilliant and does brilliant things.

But his worst is terrible. His rucking is futile. His non competing in the ruck led directly to one of Ports early goals. His non marking up of his opponent at a kick in led to another Port goal.

The thing is he's got Buddy level brilliance combined with a level of selfishness and incompetence that's astounding.

Sure you can focus on the brilliance side of the ledger but can you imagine if we had a Joe with THAT level of brilliance combined with the level of commitment, team focus and sheer grunt of, say Callum Ah Chee or Mitch robbo or Martin Pike . That would a Jon Brown level footballer. And all those things that joe lacks are purely attitude, desire and drive. He's got everything to be one of the all time greats at our club but it's just his attitude that lets him down.

For me, I'm disappointed that we're not going to see another Brown or a Daryl White or a Simon Black in Joe.......instead he'll only ever be a Warwick Capper.
I don’t post as much as I used to but this is seriously one of the worst posts I’ve read in all my time here. Did Daniher steal your lunch as a kid or something? R U OK?

I feel for her.
But in complete contrast the Welcome to Country was awesome!
Love that bloke.

Leigh Montagna on The First Crack - The Lions have been GIFTED a chance to get to a Grand Final with not having to leave the Gabba till GF day.:rolleyes:

My mistake I thought they earned the home QF by finishing 2nd, and then again earned a home Prelim by winning last night.

Fages talked during the week about the likes of Clug, Starc, Rayner, Bailey and Berry having the necessary exposure and experience now to meaningfully contribute in finals matches. We saw that on full display last night. Starcevich had an underrated game.

Joe Daniher the star of the night though for mine. 16 disposals, 11 contested possessions, 6 marks and 5 goals. Elite performance.

McCluggage and Rayner so exciting when playing in that sort of form.

Jaspa Fletcher 3 goals in his finals debut and again just looks like he belongs at this level. The most impressive thing for me was the play late in the 3rd quarter when he took the intercept mark and had the composure from there to draw a player in and unleash Charlie with a handball who set up Hipwood’s goal. Most teenagers in their first final probably take the intercept mark and just bomb it long. Super impressive. Incredibly exciting being a top 4 team but also having young talent coming through with the talent and ability of Wilmot, Fletcher and Ashcroft. If you were a bottom 4 team you’d be happy with that trio of young talent!

Overall a great win and such a great atmosphere live at the ground. The players have a look of confidence and maturity about them we haven’t seen in the Fagan era as yet. I’ve also been reading lots of comments from Demons and Blues fans suggesting the task of coming to the Gabba for the prelim is incredibly daunting and from Pies fans saying they’d much rather play Melbourne or Carlton as opposed to us. First time I’ve seen opposition fans have that fear and respect for our team.

I don’t care who we play out of Carlton and Melbourne. I think we’ll take care of either comfortably. Our team is the most talented in the league, stars on every line and high level role players supporting them and pound for pound we have the most firepower of any other team left in it. We are also functioning as a team at a very high level. Only thing stopping us from winning the flag from here is ourselves. If we approach every game as we did last nights the flag is ours for the taking.

Terrible.

It was fine and she looked great.

So she was a little shaky. She's not performing at the opera. It's just all fluff to fill in time before the bounce of the ball.

Far less annoying than the Welcome to Country guy.

SM is just a cesspool of knowalls who know nothing.

You clearly see what you want to see with Joe. He has had a fantastic year and is absolutely focussed. He is not a robot he is our Joe who you for some reason have a dislike of. He should have been an AA this year. He is not selfish, He is totally committed and he is our Joe.
And he does not own a TV. He off the grid in his own way. Growing up a 6'8" Daniher in Melbourne is no stroll in the park. Good for him.

Im worried about Gawn but I’m equally as worried about Curnow with the current form of Payne. Could see either one of them dragging their team over the Line
Nathan I seriously wouldn't give Carlton any hope against us. None at all.

Melbourne has the weapons to trouble us if they go well and are a far more challenging proposition.

Hey! The “welcome to country guy” is a Brisbane Lions legend thank you very much!
