Yep $100 is a small price to play for happiness :)

It's a consolation prize and it's better than nothing, money to offset any potential disappointment.
Up to $100 cash back (not a free bet but actual money back) with Sportsbet if the team you bet on H2H leads at any quarter and loses. If we get jumped by West Coast in the first quarter again and trail at quarter time then you could have your insurance policy and also get your money back if we come back and win.

Yep i am confident and excited but also scared shitless at the same time its a wierd feeling

You are suffering from finals fever. Will last between two and four weeks. Nothing you can do about it other than let it run its course :D

Good luck on Friday. Hopefully it's dry and no injuries.

Anyone care to post your likely 22?

Ours is:

Wellingham Schofield Butler
Hurn McGovern Sheppard
Rosa Priddis Gaff
LeCras Darling Hill
Cripps Kennedy Sinclair

Naitanui Yeo Shuey

I: Ellis Hutchings Sheed
S: McGinnity/Selwood

Is Masten injured?

Hawks likely line up is:

Stratton Lake Gibson
Birchall Frawley Burgoyne
Hill Mitchell Smith (injury cloud)
Bruest Gunston Rioli
Puopolo Roughead Hale
McEvoy Hodge Lewis
Shiels Langford Suckling
Sub: Duryea

If Smith doesn't come up then I'd assume Hartung would come in and probably play as sub.

Cheers. Yep think Masten will miss with hamstring strain.

Gee at what point do we give Simpkin a go. 14 goals - 50 possessions - 18 tackles?

Deserves a go at another club if he can't get a game

It is Hawks V "Coleman medallist Kennedy", "Brownlow medallist Priddis", "Best ruckman of all time Natanui" & "Soon-to-be-10-time-all-Australian McGovern"

I think that about rounds it out.

I would list the medals (premiership, coleman, norm smith, AA) our players have, but I don't have enough time.

Close but you forgot "Best rising star of all-time" Dom Sheed and "Better than Leigh Matthews" Lecras :thumbsu:

I'm sure Simpson watched the Haw. vs. Port game and saw what Ryder did to McEvoy. This worries me.

With the athleticism of NicNat, all he has to do is jump straight into McEvoy, with no eyes for the ball, and McEvoy becomes useless.

Clarko needs a ruckman who jumps at the ruck contests.

If this happens Big Boy needs to take his legs from under him and up-end him. He will give away a free, but do it a couple of times and Nic Nat wont be so confident to jump so high. Sometime you gotta be a little cunning.

He won't get picked on that display but still has a chance if he tears it up in the prelim in 2 weeks.
the English language is a weird thing. for some weird reason my first image was of Cegs having a good ol' cry at half time during the Box Hill prelim. i know, context is everything.

Bring Friday night on already cant wait the smell of Spring and finals in the air and we rise it up a notch or two finally after a few weeks of boring shit carna Hawks time to shine

In: Rioli, Hodge, Bruest, Hartung
Out: Sis, Lithe, Howe, Smith

Pretty straightforward

In consideration :
Spang, Jed, Simpkin

Simmo 38 possies on fire in the vfl cant be ignored. Even if he only plays this one game for the year, for Smith, as sub. Thought he was finished with us, but his numbers cant be ignored

Trade bait: Schoey

Eagles flag hopes hurt by Masten injury

Justin Chadwick

07:01 AEST Sun Sep 6 2015

West Coast coach Adam Simpson has set his sights on winning the AFL flag, but untimely injuries to key duo Chris Masten and Jeremy McGovern will hurt his cause.

Masten is almost certain to miss Friday night's qualifying final against Hawthorn in Perth after injuring his hamstring in the Eagles' 95-point demolition of St Kilda.

Scans on Sunday will determine the extent of the damage, but Masten appears set to miss at least one week.

McGovern is yet to fully recover from the left shoulder injury he suffered against Adelaide in round 22.

The 23-year-old was clearly hampered against the Saints on Saturday night, using his right arm to spoil on numerous occasions instead of taking his usual intercept marks.

West Coast need a fit and firing McGovern in the finals if they are to contain the competition's best power forwards.

Simpson is confident McGovern will be fine to play the star-studded Hawks, saying the former rookie will need to learn how to manage the pain.

"In the first half it looked like he was carrying it a little bit, but the second half he was fine," Simpson said after his team's 18.17 (125) to 4.6 (30) demolition of the Saints.

"It's a typical AC that's sore and you've got to look after it.

"There will be lots and lots of players who play with it.

"It's not a concern for this week. He's just got to play with a bit of pain, which I'm sure he's happy to do."

Key defender Will Schofield, who has missed the past three games with a hamstring injury, will return against the Hawks.

Hawthorn are set to be without speedster Isaac Smith, who injured his knee in Saturday's 57-point win over Carlton.

West Coast finished ninth last year, but they have a great chance to win this season's flag after snaring second spot and a home qualifying final.

Hawthorn and Fremantle sit above the Eagles in the premiership betting market.

But Simpson is urging his charges to reach for the stars.

"We're here to win a premiership," Simpson declared.

"You've got to go for it now when you finish second.

"We're ecstatic (to finish second) and hope all of our members and supporters are enjoying the ride as much as we are.

"We're a young coaching group as well and we've probably exceeded a lot of people's expectations.

"Internally I don't think we put a ceiling on what we could achieve."
