...he had a great season that yr tho and the other big surprise was Stephen Powell's 2000 season alongside Woewodin.I think Judd had more tackles and clearances ..the rest Woewodin...but they werent any good at tackle and clearance stats when Woewodin won it..dont even know if they were doing clearance stats.

Chris Judd won the Norm Smith in the 2005 GF but we won the flag yet I would hardly suggest he didn't do any damage.
I'm sure Malthouse won't bother tagging him this weekend since he doesnt do any damage.
This would have to be one of the most moronic posts I have read in a while.
To be honest you can't even compare Goodes with Judd in terms of talent or stature... more like with Ben Cousins or Shane Crawford. Whenever Goodes or Judd have played on each other they've either broken even or Judd has won.
For a start Goodes doesn't seem to like being tackled or body contact, hence why he plays mostly as an outside reciever, unlike Judd.
Then there's the inconsistency. He dominated last year then inexplicibly had a Barry Crocker in the GF. He was highly ordinary for the first half of this season for no reason, and was tagged out of the game on many occasions. He has been excellent lately though.
He lacks the ability to stand up and drag his team along in the big games time after time which fellas like Judd, Voss and Hird have.

Thats horseshit for a start...maybe you dont watch these games.
Whenever they've played ON each other its usually at the start to keep the fans happy and almost instantly they peel off and do their own thing...Judd had tried TAGGING Goodes before for short periods and won out.
Goodes has soundly beaten Judd many times...especially overhead where Judd is next to useless. On ground level of course the smaller faster bloke will win out.
You see what u WANT to see...both Roos and Worsfold arnt stupid enough to let matchwinners play on each other for the game and cancel each other out...they spend their time trying to get their guys FREE...whats the point in that stupidity ?
Commentators luv it tho...they like to write stories and everytime they pick up each other on the ground even if only for 10 seconds they talk about it.
When Adam Goodes goes forward and kicks a cpl where is Judd ?...missing ?

there's a lot of one-eyed stuff about goodes from sydney fans here, and i'm not one to rely on stats to tell a story, but your parochial bag-licking of your own players renders you an irrelevance in this debate

he won a brownlow as a ruckman, only what 3 players have managed that feat including goodes? and this was WHILE Judd was a midfielder, and won the award the following year.
I used to try and avoid responding to trolls. But there are so many of them here these days, you may as well humour them.
When I first joined in 2003, there were only a few trolls, and they were of a high standard. Trolling has gone seriously downhill since it went mainstream.

I don't necessarily think he is crap, i just use that term in relation to judd.
Nice call. The Chad is probably the player who could rival Goodes for versatility. Had a pretty decent year too.

Yep, and Cornes was also better than Judd this year. There are a string of players who have been better than Judd this year.
Judd is a brilliant player - it's a pity he's injured because it's so easy to forget. Has quite often kicked a small bag of goals whilst collecting 30+ . Excellent running midfielder that has excelled even with the most aggressive tags. Can play really well up forward, but is usually put there when injured so we haven't seen the best of him there.
But GOODES!
What a player. What an out and out champion. Imagine him in your side! Got an injury? Doesn't matter because you've got ADAM GOODES. Can plug the hole and win the game from whatever the position is.
Adam Goodes is the man you want in your team. Make no mistake - Judd has all the noise and fanfare behind him, but Goodes just goes about his business of winning games, quietly racking up hundreds of brownlow votes.
Goodesy's versatility makes him more valuable than Judd in my opinion. If the hawks are going to pursue a big name from another club I'd hope that it was Adam Goodes or J Brown.

If by string you mean plethora I agree. It's an indictment on the Eagles that he's even allowed to be out there in the condition he is in.
