My name got called out of the hat.
Question, I understand that you get an allocated seat? do you have to sit there or can you opt to stand? I typically stand in the bay behind the bench.

I know ollie was foolish but this Theo dropkick can't get off scott free. If any of the 1475 going on Sat could organise an Anti-Theo banner that would be great. Being a fox game it would get exposure it would stand out and Beemed through channel 7 adelaide. Teach him and his cohurts a lesson!
.

So what is the story with Jack Watts? Is he fit or isn't he? This week the Club has been pumping his tyres up then they do not select him.

We have no organised Reserves side so the only way Watts is going to get to some sort of match conditioning is to play in the curtain raiser what ever that looks like. Last I heard the AFL were still trying to work out the format.

Now that Howard is gone Jack Watts is about the only extra tall defender we have and his form prior to breaking his leg was probably the best he has shown since he came across the border.

Our achilles heel is that we do not have much height in defence. In this morning's paper they had Lycett at CHB. Cannot ever recall seeing Scott play as a defender. The fact that someone has seen fit to put Lycett at CHB makes me think I am not the only one who sees the need for a 195 cm defender somewhere in the mix.

I dare say he'd play the reserves game before hand and maybe another two or three if possible. He's in the same boat as Dixon was last year with a similar type of injury. They're a nightmare to come back from, and it would be a massive risk to throw him straight back into a AFL game straight away. Let him build slowly, get his confidence back then unleash him hopefully the second half of the year

Then Jack is not as far advanced as the reports suggested. I am more curious than upset that Watts has not been selected.

This from Nov 2019...

and this was from Jan 2020...

The comments from the players in the articles above would indicate that Watts was a good chance to line up in Round 1 2020 yet three months later he is still not in the side. Then again looking at last night's game where 10 goals were kicked it looked a bit of an arm wrestle and maybe that is not what Jack needs at this stage.

As I posted a lot will depend on how dinkum these AFL curtain raisers are. They need to be more than a good hard training session if they are to provide some match hardening. They are an AFL afterthought so they could be any standard.

For those that usually catch public transport to games, I wonder if those with a ticket can get free travel like last year? Guessing not due to the low attendance.
Send KT an email and ask him about the buses.

Let’s talk footy.

So we r favourites. Going with why did we lose last year in R8 - the difference is this:

INS: Charlie, R Gray, Jonas, Hartlett, Ebert, Butters, Bonner, McKenzie

OUTS: Ryder, Broadbent, Howard, Johnson, Drew, Farrell, Lienert, S Gray

Crows have lost Eddie Betts and some fringe players, and gained some fringe players, a new coach and a new game plan - which they will be confused by.

Did anyone watch R1 crows game, what type of game plan can we expect they’ll try...

Terrible game r8 last year. We also lost Burton in the first minute and bloke called keath for the crows who is also gone did as he pleased in defence and won the medal. Wasn't good.

Crows weren't horrible in round 1. Should've won the game.
Wet weather and shortened quarters makes this a closer game than many think.
Hope the clear difference in class gets a chance to shine through.

I'll preface my response with the fact showdowns always end up being 50/50, but.....

The Crows have lost to Sydney at home, Melbourne and GC this year.

Thats 3 of 2019s bottom 4.

If the Crows are not a realistic chance of winning the spoon then I don't know who is.

There is literally no better time to play them. The only real negative timing wise is that it is like a round 1 and funny things happen in these early games.

i must be the only one who doesnt see bonner as a walk up 22 starter.

Yes hes young and yes he hopefully will only get better but im not sure what he does well?
Below avg defender, sells himself into trouble, doesnt have line breaking pace.
You are certainly not Robinson Crusoe.
