We dont deserve to make finals .. To many ifs and could ofs.. We also won a few close games last year and could of finished lower ..

Its a shame that the shackles have been released we are finally playing brave footy. Ontop of this “new” tougher approach when the seasons gone should of been the attitude from round 1. Its all mental this year ontop of playing underdone players all year. Last night was the first time it looked like we had 22 FIT players. Love to finish the season strongly and smash GWS and probably another bitch of ours Freo
Dont deserve to make finals.....

My god...STFU...

Hawthorn supporters are seriously delusional! Their board is just a joke. I mean they are blaming the umpiring? what the hell? I love watching them lose. They won't be getting another flag gifted to them this year, I am pretty sure WA will set them straight or even the Western Bulldogs. They are slow and overrated now. Port really showed them for what they are last night, whiny, arrogant, tossers, and when the umpiring doesn't go 100% their way, they struggle big time! Their players seriously need to look up the word modesty and get a grip. They are no longer the best in the comp! Also, the way they carry on with the umpires shouldn't be tolerated, especially hodge. Just so happy we won. We may have not have made the finals this year, but I think if we play like that next year we are definitely going places.

I hope people are starting to understand what a gem of a player Sammy Gray is too! Killed it last night, has really stepped up the last few weeks when given the chance! :)

Most of us, me included, were all over Sammy this year. He kills it in the $ANFL and yet looked all at sea in AFL
dropping chest marks missing easy h/balls poor passes etc. We would shake our heads and say wtf is it with Sammy.
The answer.........NERVES same with Brendan AhChee and plenty of other players.
Ken showed faith in Sammy and now look. Brendan took a bit longer.
Just goes to show what a difference a block of games does for a players confidence and dropping some 'big' names
doesn't hurt either. Gus and Tommy looked hungry last night.
Super night for the club and our sponsors. Quality game, national stage..... oh and I think we made some new 'friends'
west of the Nullarbor. Well friends until we meet on the field
Didn't go over for the game but looking forward to seeing some of our players at Alberton today.

Ps.....is this the same board as the one after the Bullies debacle ?
How good a win was it last night? well I still can't wipe this grin off my face or shake this warm fuzzy feeling
Come on Maggies seal the double chance today

The loss to Adelaide was the killer - 8 point game and all. That game goes an extra 5 mins and we're probably playing finals.
I don't begrudge that game, it was a proper contest at a decent standard. The Hawthorn Brisbane (edit :straining: ) and Carlton ones were simply humiliating and IMO mean we genuinely deserve to be where we are.

Isaac Smith said something interesting on 3AW. He said Kenny Hinkley brings that Geelong style and mentality against the Hawks. Might explain why we have done so well against them the last 2 years and did ok agaInst them in 2013 after a few beltings.

I hate the PA/PAFCXX hivemind as much as anyone, but I don't disagree with this really.

The worst part is, this is a super even year. Everyone is very beatable. We didn't have to do anything miraculous. If we'd just managed to hold on against West Coast when we had control at the half, and then beat 3 shit teams in 17th, 18th and Geelong, we'd be second.

We've been so, so bad, and yes, a 4 game turnaround seems like a lot until you consider that we had a 3 goal half time lead at Adelaide Oval against West Coast, and the Carlton, Brisbane and Geelong losses were inexcusable shit.

We could be in prime position for a flag tilt right now, but we'll probably finish 10th.

I really hope everyone at the club is sick to the stomach knowing how wide open the flag race is this year. We just thoroughly outplayed the premiership favourite. Hawthorn are probably sitting back thinking thank **** we don't have to play those guys in September.

Chance blown, and we're not as far away this year as it seems.

Yep heard that and thought he was contradicting the commentators a bit who were going on about our manic running style of blitzkrieg football. I thought we looked a bit more methodical last night and we've been trying to bring an even more bullet-proof style of football to the way we play. The last couple of weeks - after Hinkley delivered his post-Bulldogs rocket - we have added Port Adelaide contested football into the mix and it's starting to look good.

Did laugh at Leigh Matthews who was almost crying about us roughing them up a bit before the bounce. Oh those poor helpless Hawks. Lethal probably still has bits of player's skulls in his knuckles.

At times Ken had Ah Chee and S. Gray both in the centre square for the centre square bounces. Didn't feel once that Ken had got that wrong. Both have won important touches playing in that role.

There was never that feeling of Logan to Cornes to Pittard was there? :p

You know what though. If we had games umpired like last night we would have won against Carlton and Adelaide. We have had the poor end of the pineapple with alot of the teams we have played this year. Brisbane was inexcusable by our own design.

We played some tempo footy - actuay played the 3 ways I interpreted Ken's 3 way comment, ie some helter skelter footy, some medium paced footy and the slower posession footy taking some time off the clock and slow their momentum down footy.

Some balance in our game style.
