And who is to judge what abuse is out of hand and what isn't? Some people are offended by the word 'shit'. And then a policeman has to come along and listen to the he said/she said, seriously what a waste of time and resources.
It sounds like SUNS did the right thing and the police at the ground did not.

Had the incident occurred at Etihad or the G, the abusive patron would have been removed ASAP.

Good on you SUNS, if we want this behavior removed from games people have to report it and speak out against it, you have definitely done the right thing.

I've never been to a game at Football Park, but in the early days of the Crows there were reports or female Crow's supporters not allowing visiting female supporters to use the toilets.

They even recruited a Footscray player (Kim Koster I think) and the story was that after his first night game for Adelaide at home, he returned to his car afterwards and it had been trashed, he still had his Victorian numberplates on it.

I took my daughter to her one and only game of footy at Kardinia Park in 2010. We left at half time, I wanted to belt pricks. I go to the footy to watch the footy, not roll up pissed, get even drunker and scream vile abuse all the while making it a lesser experience for those around me.

Young people can carry on about me needing to htf up, they're having fun, I'll tell you what, you're ruining my fun. It goes both ways. Just because you shell out $500 for a membership or $20 for general entry it doesn't automatically entitle you to leave your brains and manners at the point of entry.

I had a drunk, foul mouthed Melbourne supporter take a swing at me one day at the Cattery because I gave him a bit of his own back and people laughed at him. I must admit, it was during a Kent Kingsley goal onslaught in the last quarter so I would have been a bit cranky too if I was him. :p

This dickhead deadset did not let up all day. As soon as the ball was bounced he was into it. I don't know why you would even bother turning up, you don't watch the footy and you're paying exhorbitant beer prices. You'd be better off watching it on tele and buying yourself a slab.

Unfortunately it's not a new phenomenon it's been going on since I was a young kid in the 70s and no doubt a long time before that. At least they don't seem to punch on in the crowd or out in the carparks like they used to. Well not as much anyway.

Tony McGuiness - black BMW I believe. Car was keyed. Whoever did it would have been horrified as he was a big hero in Adelaide at the time!!!

Things were pretty bad at Footy Park in the early days but seem to have settled a bit since then - at least for Crows games. Never been to a Power game there.

That's what I've been thinking. Just from the way the accuser refuses to post what was said, I'm guessing he called Rischitelli a wog or something.

Just post what was said.

Not that what your saying is acceptable, but I can assure you what was said was a lot more stronger than this. And no it does not involve Rischitelli

It is being investigated by both clubs and the AFL now so I am not at liberty to give away any more of the precise details. If and when this does come out, I don't think you will be all that horrified with my actions

I mean look at the 'great work' of ACA and Today Tonight. They shove a camera in peoples faces after an allogation of wrongdoing from one or two people.

Yep. It's pretty deplorable, and is regarded by most as gutter tactics.

How is that any different to putting up a picture of a guy thats been making racist remarks or being violent at the footy.

It's no different really.

Agree, but let's put it in perspective - in the UK supporters of the two competing soccer clubs are separated by wire mesh fencing and at some venues opposition supporters require police escort into the ground. Even in the A League we have had supporters letting off flares and destroying seats.

In the AFL we have the occasional idiot supporters crossing the line, and by and large such incidents are dealt with appropriately.
Get your facts straight, no grounds in the UK are separated by wire mesh, away fans are usually only separated by stewards for the real bad rivalries..

Was a bit skeptical when I opened this thread, but this doesn't paint a particularly good picture.

Hope it's dealt with via the club and the appropriate authorities, whilst at the same time hoping it doesn't cause a similar shitstorm to the Adam Goodes one. The last thing we need now is another week of people offering their 'opinions' on racism.

You've definitely done the right thing by reporting it, just hope people can actually view this incident constructively and with a bit of perspective. :thumbsu:

Any person with half a brain knows that the comment about Goodes, and the comments about Jetta were clearly racist. Irish isn't a race.

In the Jetta incident the supporter was accusing the umpire of being racists, favoring the indigenous players during indigenous round, he did not make a racist comment towards the players!

What does it matter? I'm pretty sure Majak Daw didn't hear the abuse directed at him a few weeks back. I want to be able to take my five year old to the footy and not hear racist crap being sprouted. In fact, I want to go the footy full stop and not hear racist crap being sprouted.
Don't come to Alice Springs then mate. It's not the Anglos sprouting it but that's ok though.

Haha you must have lived in a different Alice Springs to me!

When I was there it was pretty much free for all racism on the streets going both ways

Was an eye opening few months that is for sure

Goodes probably gets 'sister-raping shit-eater' screamed at him all day, what is acceptable and what isn't?

You're right, that's perfectly acceptable. I think I'll make up a sign tomorrow for when the Swans next visit Melbourne. :thumbsu:

Actually, it's probably a good project for the kids. I'll get them onto it.

Time to harden up princesses, just imagine if there was an investigation into every moron that yells out stupid stupid shit at the footy, it impossible. Just ignore ******s and watch the game.

Says the WCE supporter who enjoys the most one-sided, feral crowd in the comp
