Art Garkunkel had a beautiful voice, much better than Paul Simon. Apparently Simon regretted allowing Garfunkel to sing Bridge Over Troubled Waters more or less as a solo piece.

Ringo .. competent drummer. Soz, can't agree about his songwriting. Octopus' Garden ... shocking (IMHO). Fortunately/unfortunately Abbey Road also has Maxwell's Silver Hammer to at least share the title of the worst song on that otherwise brilliant album. Ringo was also credited with writing his solo hit It Don't Come Easy, but it's pretty common knowledge that it was actually written by George Harrison.

The other obvious duo in this category is Wham. George Michael ... absolute genius. Andrew Ridgeley ... I can sense readers asking who? Apparently they were school friends. George gave Andrew a co songwriting credit for one of Wham's hits (can't remember which) as an act of generosity. Andrew's greatest claim to fame is that his partner was once in Bananarama.
Oh yeah. Ringo's songs were terrible. I was just giving him a couple of points for trying.

And yes I've never heard of Andrew Ridgeley, though the inner workings of Wham aren't really my special subject

Oh yeah - expanding on this now. Maxwell's Silver Hammer, Ringo's crap and Her Majesty are just awful in what is otherwise one of my all-time favourite albums.

Something was really wrong with Paul McCartney's brain - real sublime to ridiculous kind of guy

Interestingly I was talking about this very album at the footy on Saturday night. In the context of 70s albums with all good tracks. I referred to the above tracks as disqualifying Abbey Road. My mate disagreed ... he thought those songs were OK. FWIW the albums I nominated were Machine Head/Deep Purple, Dark Side of the Moon, School's Out/Alice Cooper. I could have also added Nighthawks at the Diner/Tom Waites and The Captain and Me/Doobie Bros and no doubt a few others.

Some of Paul's solo songs were unbelievably bad - Ebony & Ivory/The Girl is Mind - "the doggone girl is mine" (what a lyric?)/Mary had a Little Lamb/Let em In/Mull of Kintyre. As for his Beatles' songs ... Ob la di ... FFS.

To be fair to Paul, there is a lot of conjecture about who really wrote this song. Denny Laine ex lead singer of The Moody Blues I think can claim most of the kudos!

Good call. I remember reading something about this. Denny Laine was financially desparate and sold the song (or his share of it) to McCartney for cash not realising that it would be a worldwide smash hit.

Read the statement in full, especially between the lines. Very interesting compared to what Richmond did with Dusty for example.
Reads like he's either in trouble with the cops and/or just about to get sacked.

Also Bevo's text:

The leaker strikes again.

Unless I'm reading the wrong statements seems pretty black and white? Personal leave working on himself etc.

Reads to me like it wasn't Hunter's choice.

Spose that's different to the rest then. Surely if that's a real text it's pretty easy to figure out who it is.
If it's a WhatsApp message to a big group it only narrows it down to whoever is in the group.
