There are plenty of unacceptable/ illegal acts that Trump has committed, and many more alleged. Including a couple of dozen sexual assaults (there's a wiki page on this). All such cases are on public record if you care to look. The documents case alone should have proceeded earlier and sunk him.

And the valuation case was not Mar A Lago, it was his NY penthouse. He claimed in official loan documents that it was 30,000 sq feet in size, when it's actually 10,000 sq feet. No room for dispute of the facts here, just straight out fraud.

Ignoring all this to focus on Hunter Biden is suspiciously generous to Trump. You claim you're not a Trump supporter, fair enough. Lots of people say the same but are inexplicably willing to ignore what he's been guilty of.

The valuation case was both of this properties and lots of experts have laughed about it. A chartered surveyor would look at the plans, inspect the property and provide a lender with a 100+ page report on a property like that with an opinion of value under different scenarios, searches, etc. Trump believes his own bullshit. Banks don't rely on it at all. There is a whole underwriting process after the part you are talking about where the bank determines asset value and how much they are willing to lend.

The documents case was another stubborn but t of stupidity from Trump which Biden and other presidents have done. Stupidity. Again, plenty of presidents have committed crimes and not been prosecuted as it is not the done thing and opens a can of worms. All of this stuff is a sideshow to what is important. I'm not ignoring it due to any liking for Trump, it is merely because I don't care. People are talking about Hunter Biden because he was pardoned today. Therefore it is on topic.

I despise most of these people but unfortunately their actions have quite a big impact on our lives.

FYI pardons shouldn't exist, I get it after their civil war but now, come on, you'd have to trust the courts system or at a minimum get a trust back somehow.

In a similar vein, let's snipe Biden giving a pardon to his son, then argue that Trump should escape all consequences of his many crimes on a technicality. Sure, becoming president is a large technicality, but it doesn't mean you should just ignore what he's been found guilty of. And also ignoring the large number of cynical (i.e. paid for) pardons that Trump granted on his way out last time.

Or if you are comfortable to ignore all of this (and you seem to be), why snipe the other guy for doing something that is absolutely insignificant against the volume of similarly unacceptable behaviour that you've ignored?

I think its reasonable to see the US system as designed to limit democracy and manage it as much as possible. The best bit of the US constitution - the Bill of Rights - wasn't even part of it until the most radical founding fathers said they'd refuse to sign on without one.
