ferball here's what you get when you google Immortal Technique;

"government conspiracies" is literally in his two-sentence 'about' section.

So get off my ass about referring to him as a conspiracy theorist as if that's some sort of ignorant or racist opinion, when it's the thing he's most widely associated with.

If you had any idea about rap, you'd know that.

Glass houses, throwing stones...

Yeah pretty, but the left has now become the side lock step in line with the government

No, I strongly disagree with this.

I grant you... what you're saying is what conservatives think "leftists" do, but that doesn't make it accurate.

There's a huuuuuuge difference between pushing back on misinformation and 'believing the science', and 'being lock step in line with the government'.

You removed it you ****en coward. I should have screen shot it. You’re a real piece of work

I havent edited any of my posts.

You're losing it, mate.

I would welcome any sort of trivia contest, debate, or whatever when it comes to hip hop/rap vs you any day, any time, any where. :)

You don't understand art or poetry cos you have the mind of a bureaucrat.

Name the two other incredibly well respected revolutionary rappers involved in the remix of Bin laden.

Yeah, nah.

"Mr Musk has said some shit, the leftists are angry..."

"If you go left, and I go right
Pray we make it out alive".

"Cause Fauci's laughing and we're asleep..."

It's a dog-whistle to the conservatives she's desperate to grift to. It's why she's so desperate to get Joe Rogan's attention, and why she's putting the cancel culture/covid-truther narrative front and centre.

Anyone with a brain can see this because she is being as subtle as a brick.
There's alot of people on the left of politics who were very sus on the whole covid thing and many of their concerns were proved correct when you look at the huge transfer of wealth that followed it. How is it that a company like Pfizer are considered good given their actual ****en record and so much of their behaviour during the pandemic?

But there is nothing wrong with dog whistlering right wingers if they then end up listening to messaging about the genocide in Gaza that they probably previously gave little thought to, or the fact that men kill women in society because they still feel a sense of ownership over them. How else are you gonna expose them to those ideas?

I guess you're one of these people who thinks those vaccines were completely safe and advocating for the use of Vitamin D makes someone a cooker so even discussing any of this with you is pointless.

Aussie singer is blowing up after releasing this song. Her manager dropped her because she refused to change the lyrics. She stuck to her guns. She sings about Israel’s genocide and the man made virus. She was a doctor during the pandemic.

Listened to the song and I was expecting hip hop/rap or something inbetween.

And I’ve never heard of a musician talking about conspiracy theory before must be new..

Ffs some people really need to get a grip back on reality. Good on her for releasing music, it takes effort.

Well she’s gotten a lot of attention now, let’s see if she holds up.

Cool. You lose that bet. What do I win?

FWIW that song was an absolute staple on my burned MP3 cds in my car in the early 2000s.

I don't mind Immortal Technique - he's too edgelordy for my tastes now, but back when I was in my angsty edgelordy youth, he had a certain amount of appeal. I never said he was bad or that I disliked him - you put those words in to my mouth. But for you to deny he's a conspiracy theorist is hilarious because that's basically his entire persona. You pretty much can't google him without getting the words "conspiracy theory" returned alongside his name.

"I'm too middle class and have a position and reputation tied to everything he criticised now"

I reject the term "conspiracy theorist" the way you use it. Its a form of bigotry and people like you use it to shut down thought and discussion the way the people who upheld religious power in the middle ages used the term "heretic". Most of human history is a result of conspiracy.

Oh **** off with this nonsense hahahahaha.

Yes grandpa,

You used to be with it, then you changed what it was
Cos now what you're with isn't it
And what was it seems weird and scary to you

Cool.

On that same song he also literally raps the following bar;

"You think Illuminati is just a ****ing conspiracy theory?!"

He also suggests linkages between the 'New World Order' and 9/11. Again, same song.

And you know what? I know that song so well I didn't even have to look that shit up. It's burned into my memory, just like I burned it to mix-cds. So please, spare me your lame gatekeeping attempts when it comes to hip-hop.

If its so well burned into your brain then you deliberately and disingenuously left out the whole lyric:

You think Illuminati is just a ****ing conspiracy theory?
That's why conservative racists are all running shit,
And your phone is tapped by the federal government.

Both of those things are true and were true at the time.

Inquiring minds, especially among young black guys who think the only path they have is dealing and killing each other, would engage with that link - between conservative racists and conspiracy theories, like the nexus of Iran, the 1980s Republicans, Israel and South American cocaine flooding the US and FISA breaches, the NSA tracking everything and now the rise of the corporate surveillance state.

See that's how good hip hop works. Its poetry, not prose, it uses metaphor and license to create links between ideas in peoples minds. Its not a factual scientific paper (like those papers the UNC Chapel Hill and the Wuhan lab published about the corona viruses they built out of the original SARS.)

You're about as poetic as a square lump of coal so you obviously struggle with that. But we're here to help.

The Devil crept into Heaven, God overslept on the seventh
The New World Order was born on September Eleventh

The whole song plays off the concept of the end times, not because he's a believing christian but because its a metaphor for the end of American Democracy and the rise of the US Empire with associated ruling families etc. When he refers to the New World order he's specifically referring to the path the George Bush Sr outlined using those exact words in that speech in 1991. So he's not referring to a UN conspiracy theory but what is now 30+ years of US foreign policy.

Well she’s gotten a lot of attention now, let’s see if she holds up.
I was perplexed how a chick from Australia became the centre of the capt latest culture war, I mean there’s a hell of a lot of effort gone into discrediting someone who’s honestly hasnt had that many views in the scheme of things.
Then saw a Newsweek article,
It’s facepalm stuff, like wtf do they care for.

I haven't listened to it, I just read the lyrics cos I assumed it was some stupid commercial rap crap. Now I have to give it a listen...

Its a sketchy fashion company. They did a photo shoot a few years ago that was pretty tasteless and had kids in it.

Gross.

“In November 2022, an advertising campaign posted on Balenciaga's Instagram account featured children holding teddy bears, which were dressed in bondage and BDSM gear.”

Which is it, ferball?

1) Either scenario is possible, and expressing certainty about it is wrong

or

2) It's definitely a Wuhan lab leak and a "man-made" virus and suggesting otherwise is ignorance?

I'm just curious, because Val expressed the exact same amount of 'certainty' as me, but you only called me out on it.

I can't wait to see you attempt to justify your blatant bias and hypocrisy this time :D
Dude you already called him out on it so I don't have to. All I did was bring some balance to the cosmos.

Personally I think its more likely it came from a lab.

BTW That singer that started this discussion doesn't say she is turning to the right.

You misread and misunderstood her lyrics then used it as the basis for an attack on her and other posters.

That's pretty much your MO on here.

The term "conspiracy theorist" is used to imply the people its referring to are making shit up.

Referring to "goivernment conspiracies" is not making shit up. Do you want a list of them?

But you calling him a conspiracy theorist implies that all he does is make shit up.

Also if you try and make out he's being as literal as you are all the time then i'm not the one who knows **** all about rap...
