Hang on a sec it’s completely different. Every social media, radio, tv, newspaper platform has editorial standards.

Old Twitter was very much based on ad revenue. They weren’t run by purple haired libs, they were run by corporate as execs. And generally speaking, white power, anti vax nut balls aren’t great for attracting advertisers.

There is a difference between moderation and censorship. Yes that line is a bit blurry. No conservative was banned for promoting lower tax rates.

And think we’d all agree there is a line ‘somewhere’ on what social should allow. And I really don’t think jewhater1488 adds a lot to the discourse and old twitter was right to ban them.

Musk does so a lot of people have left.

I agree that there needs to be moderation, but you’re kidding if you think the old twitter didn’t favour the democrats.

Only in the sense that blatant racism and antivax misinformation (in the time of a pandemic) came from the Republican side.

If you’re a conservative talking about lowering taxes and maintaining rule of law, you’re not getting censored.

Yeah conservatives complaining about pre-Elon twitter are kinda telling on themselves.

Twitter strived to combat deliberate misinformation, and was very good at blocking legitimate racism/hate speech/toxicity. Conservatives complained that it meant Twitter was censoring them which was just hilarious.

Now? It's 1000 times worse and has led to a huge exodus of users (including me!).

Lol. Give me a spell. I just checked, you posted on Twitter about 20 minutes ago.

And no I don’t follow you, but you’ve posted your handle

Or if you’re the sitting president of the United States.

Look I know he said some crazy shit. Went way too far with the stolen election stuff. Tbh, I thought for sure that was the end of his political career.

But if they could’ve pinched him for trying to overthrow the government, they would have, but the best they could do was get him on paying off a pr0n star and overstating the value of mar a lago, which they valued at $18M.. which is way under what it’s worth.

Yes, I haven't abandoned it completely.

But if you'd looked at my profile for longer than three seconds, you would have seen this post and many others like it;

Did he though? Didn’t he tell them to be peaceful?

Hahahahaha **** off. I'm not gonna sit here and let you hand-wave away Trump's January 6 responsibility. Absolutely not.

GTFO with that absolute BS :tearsofjoy:

Why not delete the account if you’re so against twitter?

Because I still use it for work, for things like VicEmergency, VicRoads, and similar accounts.

Once those sort of accounts move across to BlueSky (or whatever similar platform replaces Twitter) I'll leave permanantly.

I’m sure your loyal fans would follow you right???

So far so good - of the 11,000~ followers on Twitter, 2100~ have already come across to BlueSky.

Rome wasn't built in a day :)

Don’t be daft. I hope you’re aware of the sacrifices that France made during WW2 and the crushing defeat the Nazis got when Hitler in his madness decided to turn on Stalin and invade Russia.

Once it became a war of attrition in png between the west and the Japanese, the war was already won. The Japanese just refused to surrender even though it was obvious they would lose.
Late reply I know, but it wasn't really that the Japanese refused to surrender, that's a narrative that was fabricated after the fact to justify the unspeakable crime of the U.S. The Japanese were in the process of negotiating their surrender. The U.S. dropped the bombs to ensure Japan surrendered to them and not the Soviet Union. That, and Truman had a shiny new toy that he wanted to use. If you've got a spare couple of hours (or less if you watch it at 1.5x speed - he speaks pretty slowly) this is a great little historical deep dive:

I’ll definitely watch this when I get the opportunity

I don't think they'd have much of a case since Elon is protected by the U.S.'s extremely weak defamation laws. They'd have to prove that Elon knew it wasn't true when he said it.

It would be held in the UK.
