Nathan Ablett better than all of them.
It's a good thing you tallied ittheasian hope you don't mind, I already had the first 7 pages of these tallied anyway.
Number 1 = 6 points, number 2 = 5 points etc.
89 people handed in complete lists. Posts were ignored that simple said "GAJ/Dusty the best...who cares about the rest" etc. And there were a few for both of these players in particular like that.
The .5's are where people ranked players on the same level e.g Ablett and Judd tied for first, as these were still parts of 1-6 lists.
Ablett Judd Voss Martin Buckley Hird Total 480 364.5 318.5 241.5 224.5 219Median 6 4.5 4 2 2 2Mean 5.5 4.1 3.6 2.7 2.6 2.5
Ablett the definitive number 1. Judd edging out Voss in the tier below. Martin, Buckley and Hird in the group below that, with Martin marginally ahead of Buckley who is marginally ahead of Hird.
Great call. All sit comfortably with 2-6. Ablett the 1.Adam Goodes, Simon Black, Sam Mitchell, Scott Pendlebury, Mark Riccuito, Robert Harvey and Joel Selwood are wondering what happened to their invitations?
Junior coaches at the time said so too. Best young key forward in years.imo, more skilled than Jnr, he just didn't have the desire for it.

I thought he was well over 195.195cm tall, if his old man was that tall there would never be a debate about the GOAT.
I thought he was well over 195.
An unheralded freak …imo, more skilled than Jnr, he just didn't have the desire for it.
Pretty much ..and Mark Mercuri following..1-6: Ablett, Judd, Martin, Hird, Voss, Buckley
Also the only one without a flagBuckley the only one with the ability to have 43 and 3 goals in the middle, kick 6 up forward and tear Carey in his prime apart at CHB.
Also the only one without a flag
For something different I'll go with at their absolute best for a one off game >
Chris Judd
Dustin Martin
Michael Voss
Gary Ablett Jnr
James Hird
Nathan Buckley

For individual performances over an entire career it's obviously Ablett Jnr.
100% agree.1- GAJ
2- Voss
3 - Hird
4- Judd
5- Martin
6- Buckley
If I was allowed to pick him, Ben Cousins would be 3rd.
Recency bias is the only reason Martin is above either Hird or Buckley.Cleansweep17 I believe you asked for an update on this:
There have been 92 votes ranking these players 1-6.
Average scores, organised into three tiers:
1. Ablett (5.46)
-
-
2. Judd (4.17)
3. Voss (3.64)
-
4. Martin (2.71)
5. Hird (2.50)
6. Buckley (2.47)
Hird has edged ahead of Buckley. It seems harsh for Bucks to be in last place but I guess somebody has to be.
