theasian hope you don't mind, I already had the first 7 pages of these tallied anyway.

Number 1 = 6 points, number 2 = 5 points etc.

89 people handed in complete lists. Posts were ignored that simple said "GAJ/Dusty the best...who cares about the rest" etc. And there were a few for both of these players in particular like that.

The .5's are where people ranked players on the same level e.g Ablett and Judd tied for first, as these were still parts of 1-6 lists.

Ablett the definitive number 1. Judd edging out Voss in the tier below. Martin, Buckley and Hird in the group below that, with Martin marginally ahead of Buckley who is marginally ahead of Hird.
It's a good thing you tallied it

That's a perfectly fair result.

GAJ jr is clearly number 1, the others are all great footballers in their own right.

A big shout out to Wayne Carey (no DH policy probably kept him out of the conversation).

The other is Kouta. Maybe not as consistent as the others, but probably had one of the greatest individual seasons I’ve ever seen in 2000 before his knee gave out. Incredible player in his prime.

For something different I'll go with at their absolute best for a one off game >

Chris Judd
Dustin Martin
Michael Voss
Gary Ablett Jnr
James Hird
Nathan Buckley

For individual performances over an entire career it's obviously Ablett Jnr.

I agree, Judd and Martin are clearly the top 2 at their peak.

Cleansweep17 I believe you asked for an update on this:

There have been 92 votes ranking these players 1-6.

Average scores, organised into three tiers:

1. Ablett (5.46)
-
-
2. Judd (4.17)
3. Voss (3.64)
-
4. Martin (2.71)
5. Hird (2.50)
6. Buckley (2.47)

Hird has edged ahead of Buckley. It seems harsh for Bucks to be in last place but I guess somebody has to be.

Recency bias is the only reason Martin is above either Hird or Buckley.

Martin shouldn't even be in this poll.

I don’t think did ask for this. But Martin 4 is looking good considering he’s still playing. Should be number 1 a few years after he retires with the nostalgia goggles on and the younger Dusty fans become adults. Ablett looked doomed tbh. Dustys peak is already considered better to pretty much everybody.
