Good.

Now answer the question that's been asked of you.

After all, you've stated GAJ was a 'finals flop'. So surely he can't have been anywhere near the top 3 finals performers in any season between 2007 and 2010?

Go.

F me you still didn’t read my comment properly. Read it again. GO.

It’s just a fact he was a flop in the biggest games 75% of them like his dad we’re ordinary or poor. The one good one was the one he lost. Again exactly like he’s dad. That’s why nobody discusses him as a great finals player.

So what is your answer what would you prefer? This question is in response to the legitimacy of the previous tally not about who is better which is what the other morons are using it for.

If I’m a player? I’d rather the flag of course.
If I’m judging one, I use the best and fairests.

Whoever you are rating and whoever you’re comparing them to, four seasons of good output no matter who you’re playing with, beats one game of quality. You can play an Ablett Sr level grand final from 89 and it’s still only one game.

What about Phatboy himself? Which one is better?

The other thing is, a Norm Smith doesn't necessarily result in a flag.

Just ask Nathan Buckley or Chris Judd.

But that's another reason those two players were a level above Martin.

Fortunately Dusty won the GF too didn’t he. So that’s what we are comparing it against.

And please don’t tell me you think a NS in a losing team is better than a winning one. Are you that twisted? You’ve got such a losers mentality it’s not even funny. I know now why you don’t rate finals at all. It’s actually enough to make a grown man cry, I feel bad for you.

I’ll ask you the same thing as Fadge.

Would you prefer GAJ’s 4 B&Fs at Gold Coast or a NS in a winning GF?

Because the tally that was just talked about equated them as the same or excluded NS’s altogether. That’s how twisted your guys mindsets are.
C'mon meteoric mate,
Dusty is way behind the others overall.

He's ahead in Norm Smith's only. Which I am not denigrating at all. But you win those by playing one good game, not by being the best over an entire season.

If the question was "who is the best finals player out of that 6 then Dusty is definitely in the running.

I just told you?
If I am judging a player, and the only thing one of them has is four best and fairests in a shit side and the other has a norm smith in a flag, I pick the guy with the four best and fairests every time.

There could be any number of factors in the norm smith winner - it is ONE game.

We’ve witnessed first hand in the last few years teams like north Melbourne have been awful but it doesn’t render the performances of players like Goldstein of Cunnington when he’s been healthy as being average: we KNOW they’ve been excellent over sustained periods so I pick the player with the sustained body of work

You didn’t even consider NS in your tally meaning you think it’s inferior to a B&F in a shit kicker side. Do you stand by that?

You're the one who was asking whether a Norm Smith was superior to 4 x Club Best and Fairests.

I simply pointed out to another poster that winning a Norm Smith didn't necessarily come with a flag.

But we are comparing Dusty and GAJ in this thread so it’s 1 NS in a winning GF or 4 B&Fs in a shitkicker side with the 18 year olds. So you think the B&Fs are superior then?

Here you are again.
Doing exactly what you get upset about.

You cry and literally get emotional about people allegedly ragging on your favourite player and talking them down and saying that he’s shit etc etc.

Which no one actually does, we just give you cold hard facts and tell you that he’s not as good as you think he is:

And again you post utter garbage 😂😂

And again it’s hilarious
In what ‘biggest games’ was he a flop? Which 75 per cent?

Tell us mate?
He was pretty standard in his first grand final. Below his own standard perhaps but played a pretty normal game by the standards of any normal player.
Was probably the best player on the ground in his second, and if we win the game he wins the medal.
Was in the best 5-6 players out of 44 in the third grand final. So not sure what you’re on about there. So in 2 of his first 3 grand finals he was exceptional.
In his fourth he was 35 and finished the game midway through it injured but was probably average, and well past his best.
Of his other big games during his prime years when did he flop mate?
Which of these 75 per cent were so underwhelming? I’d love to hear about them

The GFs I can do right now.

07 non factor

08, great but a loser

09, good

20, grotty

Done. He’s a flop in GFs like his dad. They are as unreliable as it gets.
Not interested in a partial answer.

The question was - 'Who were the top 3 players in each of the finals series between 2007 and 2010'.

Then we can get a gauge on exactly how superior a finals performer Martin was to GAJ. (Notwithstanding the fact GAJ played in a stronger team against stronger opponents).

Ok prove me wrong. Rate his GFs great, good, average or poor. GO.

And actually his dad as well.

You're the only one comparing Dusty and GAJ.

We've all said there's no comparison, and I've gone as far as saying Martin doesn't belong in this poll.

Oh yeah 07 port was insane competition. I have no idea how GAJ managed to be a non-factor in that game. Simply incredible.
