Ladies and Gents,

For those putting in Mitch Honeychurch, I'd advise against at this point in time. He's a talented kid and he'll get game time, but I doubt it'll be early. Realistically, he's behind: Griff, Cooney, Boyd, Libba, Wallis, Hrovat, Hunter, Macrae, Dahl, Tutt, Crameri (if he spends time in the middle), Stevens, Clay Smith (dependent on return from injury) in our midfield rotations.

I know he's cheap, but with our midfield numbers he's unlikely to start early on - unless we get injuries. Potential downgrade target later in the year.

NB - If he gets 45+ and kicks 3 goals on Wednesday, feel free to disregard this message....

Some feedback would be greatly appreciated cheers guys!

I like it, has a little bit of variety compared to most other teams.

A quick question, what is your reasoning/thoughts behind putting Darling in? I too have him in my team but I am 50/50 as to his feasibility, and am in a limbo as to whether or not keep him in.

who's this kardashian that everyone is selecting in the back line?
I thought Murphy looked ordinary in the first hit out, and carlton played a very unfriendly dt game style in week one.
with knackersnui and his groin... could be maric circa 2013 all over again.
Rohan - good luck.
you reckon Zorko will return to his dt sluttyness?

apart from that all your others are on my watch list except bourke and naismith...

I'm thinking a Sandi/McEvoy combo atm... the hawks are very dt friendly

Rivers and Frawley don't offer much value, but other than those two I like a lot of your picks. Risky strategy but could pay off big. Also you probably have too much money on your FWD bench, some good options there.

Me:
DEF: Bartel, Hanley, Seedsman, Swallow, Suckling, Guthrie (Tippett, Georgiou)
MID: Ablett, Beams, Steven, Fyfe, Thomas, C. Beams, Michie, Polec (Garlett, Ellis)
RUC: Ryder, Lobbe (Longer, Thurlow)
FWD: Dangerfield, Martin, Mitchell, Wingard, Caddy, Clark (Rohan, Kersten)

I remember this uploading stuff being way more of a pain in the arse...

Laidler, Howard

MID: Pendlebury, Ablett, Griffen, Beams, J P Kennedy, D. Thomas, C. Beams, Michie
X. Ellis, Polec

RUCK: Sandilands, Dixon
Nankervis, Longer

FWD: Dangerfield, Franklin, Chapman, D.Martin, M. Clark, Rohan
Bock, Kersten

I honestly can't stand the format of the AFL Fantasy set up, and am preferring to concentrate on Real DT and Supercoach. But thought may as well have a go and try and do something with the game for a couple of weeks. So I'm going for a team I think should score well in round 1, based on possible match ups, historical scores v opponent and by ground, and basement price rookies.

D: Mitchell, Birchall, Grimes, Suckling, S.Shaw, McDonald (Cameron, Georgiou)

M: Barlow, Stanton, Steven, Sloane, Cotchin, C.Ward, Michie, Ellis (Cowan, Hallahan)

R: Cox, Sandilands (Currie, Naismith)

F: Riewoldt, Mitchell, Roughead, J.Kennedy, Parker, Fasolo (Kersten, McInnes)

Can always be bitten by going for too many players from one team (S.Mitchell, Birchall, Suckling and Roughead) but I think Hawks players should do well and control the ball down at Aurora, Parker and Mitchell will get a fair crack in the midfield v GWS, Cox can get the ball v Minson even if he misses out on hitouts, Stanton is historically an excellent starter etc

- doubt Kolodjashnij will be named for the first few rounds. Wasn't given a run in the pre-season.
- very risky forward line with Chapman, Clark and Bock. There's talk that Bock won't be back for us until approx. round 4. And Clark was left out of the first pre-season game due to injury.

Other than that, good structure and some nice PODs with Hibberd, Griffen, Kennedy and Dixon.

I'd also track Griffen very closely before locking him in. He's had back concerns over the pre-season and it's the reason he was left out of NAB 1. Club say he's fine but Geelong said Hawkins was fine. I don't trust back complaints. I'm not saying don't pick him, just be careful.

I think Fuller is a better option, although not 100% on him.

Tippett for the Roos could get a run also. Nice and cheap.
I'm cooling on Fuller at the moment. I still think his scoring potential is very high for a defensive rookie this year, and his price is appealing, but we're not totally sure when he's going to come in. The club seems keen on persisting with Easton Wood and Tom Young (even though, while I rate Young, this makes our defense remarkably tall), and I'd have thought Matt would get a run in NAB 1. I expect him to do so against Fremantle but I'm just not sure how close the club sees him as being. Wait and see.

Tippett was a nice surprise the other day, thought he was one of the most impressive rookies out there. Could get games but I think North's defense is pretty tall as is. Another that I'm a bit iffy on at this stage. Was named for tomorrow's match as well so will see how he goes then.

Have tinkered around with my team and I think this may be pretty much the final product any thoughts or suggestions much appreciated

I rekon i got a pretty kick ass team here. And will most likley go into round 2 with something like this (rookies pending)
Thoughts?

You've got too many mid-priced options locking your cash away in my opinion - good to have a couple as PODs but you're at the point where you're sacrificing premiums to upgrade rookies to mid-pricers (who are the riskiest proposition in the game). Pick a few of the likes of Swallow, Suckling, Docherty, Kolodjashnij, Zorko, Thomas, Sandilands, Beams, Pavlich, Daw and Fasolo and run with them, then use the leftover cash to upgrade these other guys to premiums. Your team will look much better for it in my opinion.
