Found it funny when the team i posted earlier looked pretty strong. There was only $171K left. Without a doubt it is a strong side, but lacks any imagination. It would do well, but nothing flashy.

I would like to see someone post a side that essentially a gamble in itself. Lots of risk with lots of benefits should the team actually work. Krakouer in the backline, Ottens in the ruck with Nic Nat, Gia in the forward line, that sort of thing. People here seem to be following a very similar team to the one before it. One idea has become the central belief in most teams posted.

Well my team has a few risks IMO
My Team:
Goddard, Enright, Hodge - Dosen't look that phisically fit and had a poor 09, Gram - Risk has had a big slide in his scores over the last 3-4 years, Waite - Big Injury last season, Ladson/Waters/Maguire Didn't play a game in 09 2 off them are coming of injury and goose is injury prone. Silvagni - Rookie listed, is an un known quantity

Ablett (C), Swan (VC), Dal Santo, Ball - How will he go in a new team?, Martin/Barlow/Shuey all young and can be inconcistant. Moles - Rookie listed, is an unknown quantity.

Jolly - May decrease his score because of less game time and the pies style of play , Hille - Coming of a big injury for a bigman.
Warnock - May or may not get game time, Bass - Rookie listed is an unknown quantity

Riewoldt, Brown - Has an injury history, Giansiracusa, Tippett - Can be inconcistant, Hall - Can explode any time and be suspended, Medhurst - had a shoking 09 can be inconcistant, Rockliff - Only played 1 AFL game, and scored 12 SC points.
Gumbleton - He is a ticking time bomb as his back spazamas happen at random times, Podsiadly - Rookie listed, is an un known quantity.

I'll give it a go.

Very solid backline...a bit top heavy though. I'm not convinced with Macdonald or O'brien.

Mids are pretty good as well. Can't fault them.

Rucks are solid. Who is Bass?

Forwards are pretty good but I would downgrade O'brien or Macdonald to Hunt or Waters and upgrade Gia to Riewoldt. Riewoldt is a must in the forward line IMO.

Riewoldt... Trade Okeefe and Pav For Reiwoldt and Harvey/Lokyer/Petri or Trade O'keefe, Pav and Gia for Tippett, J Brown and Riewoldt. Other than that it looks nice.

Ill tell you guys what would be way better, If you start of with 15million and have to pick 40 players (12 Backs, 11 Mids, 5 Ruck and 12 Fwds) and you arnt alowed to trade till the Split round were they would have a 2 week transfer period were you could make upto 6 trades.

I kno i sound like a loser, But it just popped in to my head.

IMO you have too many 50/50 type players in the backline. ie- Waite-Kennelly-Raines-Maguire. You need to sure up this if you can.

McEvoy is not guaranteed of a game evry week.

To make up some money you might be able to downgrade Cotchin to Barlow and Rohan to Hitchcock

see a few other teams to see there reserves, you want cheap reserves to play in the next two month so they can be upgraded after increasing in value


have hunt playing, not on bench

down grade harvey to a trengove or scully

upgrade tippett to a sandi/clark, get rid of mcevoy(saints have king ,gardiner, kosi to ruck) to lobbe , trengrove to warnock of carlton


swap sj to tippett so he can be used as a multi pos player with lobbe if one of your main rucks goes down, saves a potential trade

varcoe has a broken thumb, has pods been elevated? peterson?? to a rockliff or rohan or gumbelton

will roughead play rnd 1?

Rucks - Natanuis a big risk but Warnock is good backup

Very wary about Malceski and Hunt...Schoenmakers will play 22 games so I'm happy with him.
I previously had Joel McDonald and Greenwood in their instead of Malceski and Hunt but changed it so I could get rid of Brent Harvey and bring in Nick Riewoldt

Imo currently the backline is a risk, but not a massive risk. High returns though. Malceski and Kennelly have had good preseasons, Hunt and Ladson eh.
