fairly solid. im personally not picking enright just hmm well i dont think hell be among the elite scorers i dont really know why!

im definitely picking selwood but vince i would even consider his team mate thompson apparently hes spending alot more time resting up forward this year and i vividly remember a game against the swans where he kicked 6. palmer can be inconsistent and will probly cop a tag which can be difficult for a young bloke

porplyzia hasnt had much pre season because of a hip injury/surgery. lecras a risk in not a quality side. i would look at downgrading him to hall or ziebell or upgrading him to not really sure. i like murphy and gumbleton though.

duckfan - you should avoid players like Petrenko and Garlett. They are unlikely to improve too much, have some concerns over job security and you are paying a premium for them because their price went up last year.

Regarding Ladson and Kennely, having both in your starting defence could become a problem, question marks over weather Ladson will be up and ready to go for round one and well Kennely will need match fitness, see how they go in NAB cup then you can make decisions.

And if you have any money id upgrade Bastinac to Cunnington, his more ready then Bastinac, Bastinac will have to beef up a little, Cunnington will get alot more game time, and loves to tackle.

Heres my first crack at a team. A few risks in the team but you have to take some and need a bit of luck to be a chance, last year I came 10th overall so I'm looking to be up there again.

Backs: Goddard, Enright, Lake, Hodge, Hunt, Ladson, Waters. Emerg: Maguire, Davis

Mids: Ablett, Selwood, Cooney, Vince, Trengrove, Martin. Emerg: Shuey, Bastinac.

Rucks: Jolly, Kruezer Emerg: Trengrove, Lobbe.

Forwards: Reiwolt, Brown, Fevola, Tippett, Murphy, Dangerfield, Gumbleton Emerg; Tapscott, Dennis-lane

Same theme i usually go with, proven players with a few risks and alot of cash cows. Also I'm a big fan of having my keepers playing for teams that will play finals.

I've decided to go for something a little different.. Everyone seems to have the same team! I've gone for players who i think will have break out years or will get back on form... Pretty even all over the board. I've also gone for forwards who are capable of kicking goals but can move into the midfield. I wanted to have Burgoyne in for Masten but ran out of cash.

I've decided to go for something a little different.. Everyone seems to have the same team! I've gone for players who i think will have break out years or will get back on form... Pretty even all over the board. I've also gone for forwards who are capable of kicking goals but can move into the midfield. I wanted to have Burgoyne in for Masten but ran out of cash.

Any thoughts on this...

You could argue a great case for all these players, but the reality is they are all risks. You can get away with a few, and if they come off you will look like a genius, but not all of them will. You should sure your side up with a few more reliable performers, even if they cost a bit more.

I think Kerr is a big risk he burnt me last year. Think S hill is overpriced for the low pssession game he plays. Whit I think will not get enough of the ball deep forward and the same goes for Kosi. Gumbleton and Burton starting is a bit too big a a risk for mine. Like the back line though.

Morris - not a SC player

Midfield is solid, scoring potential.

Rucks are good.

Forwardline is terrible.

Your marquee player is Higgins, who is injury prone.
Rioli is yet to make an impact as a SC player.
Kosi is injury prone and puts in very inconsistent scores.
Jurrah has the x factor, averaged 73 in his first 9 games of AFL, you can't help but like him.
Dangerfield is a gun. Will average 80+ this year.
Burton can't play more than 10 games in a season, too old, too injured.
If Gumbleton sneeze's he puts his back out and is sidelined for another 4 weeks. Bench player at best, not in your starting 22.

Downgrade Morris to a Rookie - IE Sheppard.
Downgrade Schoenmakers to a Rookie or Maguire.
Dowgrade Rowan to Tapscott or Dennis-Lane.

Use this money to address your forward line.
Should be able to upgrade 2 players with that money and will have your team looking more respectable.

I wouldn't go near Raines.
Sheppard Looks the goods at the eagles for 80K less, probably will average close to what Raines does if he even gets a game.

I like your midfield, i've been forced to reconsider my stand on Mclean, could be a value pick.

Watch Cox, not travelling well at all, Trade down targets Sandilands, Jolly and McIntosh are obvious choices, but if Cox gets going, great Ruck combo.

Nice Forward line. Maybe use the 80K from the Raines-Sheppard swap to upgrade Pavlich to Goodes.

Chris Mayne is a great selection. I'm tossing up between him and Taylor Walker.
