My team so far is:

Backs- goddard,deledio,shaw,lake,stratton,smedts,Clarke(Morris ,Wilkes )

Centers-ablett, pendlebury, cotchin,Hayes,shiel,kavanagh(Mitchell,zorko)

Rucks-leuenberger,Mumford(Giles,orren)

Forwards-buddy,rioli,Martin,Hurley,didak,porplyzia,pfieffer(kerridge,Rowe)

Salary cap $200

tbh i'd only take hargave at that price if i thought he would average in the 90's. if you think he's gonna score 75-85 you arent taking him as a premium choice, more as a money making choice? imo you could pick up a rookie for something like 150k less who could average 60-70 and make a lot more cash

Spot on, if u don't see him finishing in the top7-10 backs at the end of the season then whats the point?

l'm pretty sure zorko as a injury.lake is a risk.

@Kal83. Solid team, quite a few similar players to mine. My advice would be to get rid of Didak. He's cooked. Probably Hayes too, as tempting as his price is, at 32 he can't bounce back from a knee reco (not to where he was at anyway) and they'll probably sub him out for the first few games anyway, because after that amount of time out, he wont have the tank. I predict his price will drop further, making him a bad investment. I'd drop didak for someone like a s.motlop (220k) and then use the extra cash to get a 500k mid. Someone like Jordan lewis (DPP), looks like he'll be up and about this year.
Shi* I love footy.

rocketboots, yes i agree about hayes. i think mitchell and zorko are both injured also, didak is a no go, hurley not sure if he will score heavily enough. rucks are great though, not bad overall.

my team,

goddard deledio shaw enright birchall clarke morris (brown wilkes)

ablett swan k stevens k horsley kavanagh mcdonald (magner gibson)

mcevoy giles (stephenson rowe)

franklin goodes pav martin zaharakis sidebottom smedts (saad treloar)

thoughts?

Gone with a multi position strategy. Will change around the drafties as we get closer to round 1.........

@shytbricks. Backline and Forward line both look sharp. A thought would be to perhaps lose enright and find a value pick, like a B.Lake or B.Stratton. Then invest the money into your midfield.

That is an awful side. You've be at this for a few years now .

Too may dud mid pricers. I can only see 3 A graders in Selwood, Sandi and Watson. No mature aged rookies that will play early.....

At a quick glance you seem to have a side with way to many mid priced players who will turn in sub 80 scores. Sure they may do something different this year but I wouldn't be gambling on all of them.

There looks to be plenty of cash cows from last years draft that will give the same result and allow you to free up some ca$h for some 100+ premiums. Continue to watch the NAB cup and look at getting a few good kids in there:thumbsu:

No offense but I'd start again you have spent way too much money in your midfield which has affected the rest of your team And your reserves are horrible

Draft 2 :)

Thoughts
I think maybe my FWD line is a little weak.
Maybe swap Kreuzer to Trent West, get 50k or so, giving me around 100k to upgrade a fwd line player?
Barlow and Hayes could be risks, but are well priced.

Cheers all :D

First, Zaha is NOT a premium, and I wouldn't call any player who cant avg 100 a premium so 13 is also stretching it.

Lake will struggle to play 22 games and I doubt he will earn you much coin versus the risk to have him. If I had Lake in my side it would be on the bench at this point.

I guess this side might avg 2000-2200 depending on how the kids score and if that is all you are after for an average league win then so be it. Keep your eye on a few of the kids you have in the guts and a few other potential fwd & backs during the NAB cup and you may be able to use a few of these and really increase the number of premiums which will also increase your avg. Guys like Pendles, Selwood, Swan, Boyd etc are not cheap but the return you get will be worth it if you can find a way to get them in your team.

Best of luck mate:thumbsu:

spongetom:

I like the backline, but keep an eye on Lake and Clarke in the coming weeks. I think both present amazing value if they get on the park early (especially clarke; no real injury concerns and theres a spot waiting for him)

people have been mentioning that mitchell is injured so you might need a different rookie option. theres a fiar bit of money in that midfield and id look for a different option to hayes. i just dont think he'll get back to his best.

Id be hoping that Sandi is over his injury concerns because he missed a fair bit of game time last season. Ive gone for big mummy instead but your choice could be inspired. Kreuzer could be a really good choice this year as im betting he'll explode

I think you need 1 more higher scoring keeper in your forwardline. franklin picks himself. pav could be interesting if Rossy decides to camp him up forward, might restrict his scoring. christensen is unique, but will he improve enough to justify that selection? if i was looking at a mid pricer in the fwdline it would be winderlich at 300k. porps is cheap but look at the massive risk associated to him. watch pre season form but dont expect a full season.

id downgrade a mid for a forward upgrade. if you can get a beams/martin/chappy priced player in, the team will look a lot more balanced.

Heres another try at mine

Fair line up but Porps is a gamble. He may only be low 200k but I dont see him increasing this much and I think he is still injured? You may end up trading him out mid season with not much change in bucks or avg?

Not sure about your bench players but I dont see much flexibility with MPP throughout your team. Given the byes etc MPP will really be worth it this year (perhaps more than ever) as the leagues continue during the bye rounds. I would look at at least two maybe three MPP in each line and the center maybe four? After the byes its gloves off and an upgrade frenzy:)

rucks; Sandi is big bucks and coming off his injuries last year (and with Lyon now at the reins) he may not get as much time & points as he would during the past. If he is still fit and flying I will be looking to get him in the last qtr of the year. Krooz well I dont think he will score big numbers if carlton play him as a forward to fill their needs, I wouldn't have him but he may be worth rolling the dice?
